Maybe someone can 3D print a cover that is half open to shine on the license plate and the other half:

I love this. I'd want a ford logo, or a maverick truck outline.

How the heck do you remove the license plate lense cover? I’m trying to change the bulb.
It appears that bulb is sold as an assembly. Here’s the part number:

You have to push from the inside. It's definitely a PITA. See that clip in the picture? Use a plastic pry tool and push on that then try pushing on the rest of the housing with a screwdriver from behind until it pops out. Took me a while to get it and if you can have someone on the outside slide a plastic pry tool in while you wiggle it as you depress the clip, it will pop right out. That'll also help keep it pried outwards because I believe there is a small latch on the other side.

So, clip depressed, pull outwards in the opposite direction of the clip side.

This is actually the 4th vehicle I've owned that has the type of setup. I don't understand why it's so common vs. just having a damn bulb to replace instead. But, if you think this is bad, wait until you see the cost of replacing LED headlights. Also insane. Especially considering many of them use DRLs and you can't change ANY bulbs inside, even turn signals. My Tacoma was that way. Just another way for them to charge more for their parts.

Looks like that picture was taken when the truck was stopped. Once you get going, the light is shining on the road where you were, not directly under the truck anymore. Nothing to worry about.
Good point. Because of the coefficient of friction of light, the faster you go the more the light trails behind the vehicle. So dragging a beam of light 100 yards long at 60 MPH certainly could attract the notice of the Space police.

It's an LED. Why would you need to change it? I mean unless it went bad?

The XL has user-replaceable incandescent turn signals. No tools needed and a 30-second job.

Many of the incandescent bulbs on my 22 year-old F-150 never did need replacing. I did eventually replace the headlight assemblies on it though, due to 20+ years of UV rays fogging the plastic lenses. No tools needed and took about 10 minutes. I did need a tool for alignment, though.
Total cost for the headlight assemblies was $50 for the pair. And that included the halogen bulbs.

The light that lights up the back license plate shines on the road below the bumper.. I don't know why but it just kinda bugs me.. Knowing the road below the back bumper is being lit up as ur driving... First thing that pops in my mind is that at night it looks out of the ordinary and might make a cop take a second look at u while driving.

You should use another car when you are casing banks to rob.

Gee, I’m gonna have to turn my lites on at nite, check this out. I’m hope if it does light up a road, and while driving, will leave the light on the road for any drivers behind me. Maybe avoid a rear end?
