I didn't pay attention in the EcoBoost Mavericks . But I noticed it in the Bronco sport too on Friday at work. Not sure if it's all years or just some
I was wrong, there isn't stop for park on the EB Maverick. It just has never bothered me because, as with any auto shifter, I subconsciously know how many clicks I am away from the selection I want. Plus there's an audible feedback 'dink' sound for Park.

90% of the time it's no problem because I instinctively feel the clicks too. It's those times when I'm turning in tight quarters and quickly shift between R and D and I overshoot R and don't realize it because the shift knob kept spinning. If I took my time like someone with good sense, it wouldn't happen. But when in tight quarters, I don't have good sense 😅

I still find myself turning it in the wrong direction, but otherwise, I like it. Same as in my 2023 BS BL

You all are too young. :) You haven't lived until you drive a manual transmission with the shifter on the steering column (aka "Three-on-the-Tree").
I can drive a floor mounted manual by feel - you have to. The shift knob numbers don’t illuminate:)

But every automatic I’ve driven I have to look down to see what gear I’m in (or shifting into).
I don’t even try to drive an auto by feel!

Youve really lived when you drive one where the linkage isn't adjusted properly, and you have to get out and uncross the gears. Then shift carefully enough to not cross them again

I am not a fan of the rotary shift (2025 XLT AWD hybrid) and am still trying to get used to it after more than 4,100 miles in my gobuggy. I will adjust ... overall I really like my Maverick. But I remain annoyed with the rotary shift and having to use the touchscreen for most things. I think both the shift and touchscreen are examples where the beancounters won out (cheaped out ...) over common sense, time-tested engineering solutions. And I sometimes catch myself at times going to push the radio on-off button instead of the start/off button ... that's probably more of a placement issue than anything else.

I really ended up liking the rotary shifter, for its low profile. The ability to use the cup holders unencumbered by basically unnecessary gear shift handle sticking up in the middle of the console.

When I had my 2023 Escape Platinum Hybrid I hated the rotary shifter, but after 6 months or so I got used to it and now it's no different than reaching for a normal shifter in a center console it just becomes natural.

Honestly a column shifter would save so much space, but I love the Mav shifter. Most of our shifts are from P to D and back, and those are no look.

With a column shifter.
Would you move the windshield wiper switch to the turn signal a stalk?

Once I got accustomed to it I was happy with it.
I still get in my 2004 Escape and paw around the center console for it :’P
