I like it, I get how many don't because that's how "fashion forward" works, takes a little while for it to grow on people
It could grow on people. BUT for example the mk8 golf still hasn't grown on me compared to the mk7 and it's been a year or two. Still doesn't look better to me.

true enough, there are plenty of examples of the older versions of a vehicle holding up better aesthetically than the updated versions, I do like both versions though, I think the update is attempt at improving mpgs...my 22 hybrid xlt is the best vehicle I've owned (efficiency and comfort) and I've owned Civics, 4runners and Tacomas, and an ES 330

For sure. I remember a lot of people not liking the 2014 to 2015 FOCUS ST refresh but honestly I like the 2015 looks much better.

Glad I have a 2023. This new look is down right horrible. Must be new engineering group post COVID work at home design team. Lincoln grill? Really Ford? Wheels look like an afterthought.

I voted yes. I know its weird, but the Maverick is by all measures in this day and age, weird. From a sport truck perspective everything going on (lets not think about the facemask(?) for a second) works for a custom feel sport/street/mini truck vibe. Body color paint is obviously sport, the wheels are custom, the grille is unique, and this thing has fog lights!!! The latter is something alot of yall used to say was a deal breaker almost. The only thing about the truck that makes everyone question and hurl about everything else. Is that front face mask, and we all know how much a face mask can enrage and polarize the American public :ROFLMAO: . But if you all think about it as the front end of a custom street truck. That "mask" is really a blank canvas. It is the starting point for a whole lot of custom potential. Think about that Maverick with the wild graffiti paint with all the speakers and the airbags. That grill would look pretty decent on that truck when its sitting on the grass a show.

Just think about it, through the eyes of a custom builder looking to express their art.

perfect example! https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cu...e-1996-ford-taurus-the-saddest-car-ever-made/

I had a co-worker who bought a leftover 96ish Taurus WAGON for a steep discount. Not steep enough, lol. We made fun of that thing daily. Hell, he did. He knew it was fugly and just needed transportation.
We bought a 97'. Yes the look was not well received but I liked it. Similar to the restyled fourth generation Chev. Caprice.
Honestly that Taurus was one of the more reliable cars I've owned. No problems ever with that 3.0 Vulcan.

I said “OK” for now. i bought a left over S197 Mustang after I saw the new S550 on the lot. Then after I saw the new S650 Mustang, I bought a left over S550.
I do not care for the wheels in the photo, but that’s an easy change. The one show stopper for me is the touch screen climate controls.
Every time I drive my 24 Lariat Hybrid I appreciate just how simple & convenien, yet functional the controls are.
No thoughts on upgrading at this time.

Range is a bit weak on plug in hybrid AWD.
ST model with 2.3L 300HP is going to destroy CV shafts.
Limiting XL model to fleet only is going to make people unhappy.
Eruption Green paint option on XLT is wonderful.
Ivan at Fast Mavericks is running 349+ hp to the wheels when he ran his 2.0L, and so many other units like mine with Fast Mavericks bolt ons and a Tune are running 300hp+ without problems. Some units just have had bad CV shafts and or owners poor treatment of their vehicle.

My bet is Ford doesn’t use the 2.3 that brings them into Ranger Territory and runs the 2.0L with bigger Turbo (possibly the 46 mm Lincoln Corsair Turbo) a Factory Tune putting out estimated
280 HP with 295 Lb ft Torque in whatever trim name they call it…my easy guess is ST. Lobo isn’t a name Americans relates too but then again looking at that goofy upper front fascia overlapping the headlights who knows what they will do like adding those Satellite 📡 dish wheels 🤣🤣

As someone who still owns a mk7, I totally agree! The Mark 8 is ugly! However the new Maverick is growing on me as the days go by. I'm wondering if the grill will change for the non-Lobo/ST version.

So maybe it’s a Lincoln in disguise with Ford badges, Lariat fender tag. Maybe it’s the Lincoln Lobo? I remember the Lincoln versions of the F150’s. Similar gaudy styling concepts. That’s my hope. When those don’t sell for they’ll discount heavily enough to afford a proper grill and wheels on it

The Grill is designed like the Lincoln Blackwood
