Say what you want, but you can’t say Ford doesn’t listen to customers. Some of the best received mods on here in the last year are fog lights, body colored trim and the desire of a full width display getting rid of the cubby.

I like it. I bet after its release there will be numerous posts about retrofitting new bumpers on the first gen mavericks.

The question is, which set of customers Ford is listening to? The ones with horrifically bad taste perhaps? But yea, just because the administrator posted these photos doesn't mean that front end will be plastered across all trims.

A few more days or weeks and we'll know what's what.

My prediction: They're going to prove they can still sell it by adding the AWD hybrid option.

If the Maverick looked like that I would not have bought it. Hideous.

I seriously considered waiting for the 25, mainly for the bigger screen, but they screwed that up too. Give me knobs and switches and buttons, not capacitive touch any day. I'm as techy as anyone here, but i hate not being able to use muscle memory to adjust the temp or fan without looking.

@Ford Motor Company

I feel like this little survey could be shared around the design team.
I think over the next couple weeks, they will see the overwhelmingly negative response one way or another. Hopefully they address it in other models, but I feel the design changes in general are just wasted effort and they did the same dumb "squinty eye big nose" thing on the Mustangs previously. It's like Hollywood Housewives getting plastic surgery just for the sake of body modifications. It's a mental disease and FORD needs psychiatric help on the 2nd gen Mavericks.

Don't like it, but maybe it will slow sales down enough for Ford to catch its breath. On the other hand, maybe we're looking at another Edsel.

As I've mentioned in the other post, it's not that bad. I've seen a lot worse. To be honest, the new headlights make it more like the new Ranger or '21-'23 pre-facelift F-150 which isn't a bad thing. And it's nice they're upgraded projector beam LEDs instead of reflectors. Makes for better night visibility. Also, the inclusion of foglights which people have been begging for since the beginning.

However, the waterfall grille is a bit tacky especially with the body-colored surround protruding in front of it. Makes it look obtrusive. I saw nothing wrong with the current grille. If they had kept that and just updated the headlights, then it wouldn't get so much hate I bet. I'll have to see it in person as do a lot of others on here. Maybe they'll grow to like it. We're quick to judge by pictures but in reality, it might be a different story.

Those wheels take some getting used to but like I've said before, it's just this trim, not across the board. The XL, XLT and standard Lariats will get more traditional wheels albeit with some slight aesthetic changes and black plastic bumpers/side sills. Once you have that visual contrast, it will make it look more aesthetically pleasing. Body colored is not for everyone but in my opinion, it's a much cleaner look and easier to maintain. Plus it's less plastic to discolor and age overtime. Sure this will chip but I'd much rather do touch up instead of having chewed up plastic or replacing it altogether.

The infotainment screen is a love-hate relationship it seems. I'm no different. I love the fact that it'll have Ford's latest Sync 4 software which will be more responsive and have better graphics. But I hate how it eliminates physical buttons and replaces them with touch capactive ones which aren't as friendly trying to navigate without looking at the screen. Buttons and knobs allow you to identify them by feel to a point where you don't even have to take your eyes off the road to do it. Thus increasing safety. It's encouraging distracted driving the other way around. As far as the rest of the interior goes, I wonder if they've made improvements to the plastic quality or changed the overall design since it's still heavily camouflaged. I doubt the quality was improved but with the price hike, they should. It's the least they can do.
