What is the purpose of the hinges? I have a standard 2x6 painted matte black in mine. Your's is pretty but not seeing the reason for the hinges?
I went two 2X6’s so I go can throw one up front if I need to or just have a higher divider. I can also bungee an item on the front and backside of the boards by putting the bungees between the two boards.

The lockable hinges are a great idea. I followed your advice and bought them at Amazon.
The hinges makes it versatile and easy to install !!
Here is the result:

I like how you reused the OEM tiedowns too. Being today is the 4th of july heading into my weekend off I doubt I will get started on my steel foldable divider today, but since I added my own tiedown tracks made of logistics track or L track basically aircraft seat track, I have 2 of these I removed and will figure out how I want to incorporate them into my steel divider. It's been ever evolving in my head including how I plan on latching it.

I dont think I will buy anything store bought for the hinges and latch, but will cut and weld up my own out of steel tube and steel rod. This way I can pull the hinge pin and seperate the 2 halves completely. Going to sketch up whats in my head and post it up here this morning.

For now, Heres pix of my L track rails. I am an aircraft sheetmetal structures fabricator by trade. The end caps I made from .040" 301 stainless steel. I used metric 90° countersink stainless steel screws I specced from www.Belmetric.com. I used a drill press in our machine shop to drill and countersink the screw holes.

This a couple quick n dirty sketches I made in about 15 minutes this morning. The hinge and locking U channel morphed in my head to what it is right now. Between now and build time, it could morph again. The rollers will be slightly higher than the wheel wells this is for loading sheet materials like plywood. You get it on the rollers and roll it in, then set it down. I'm not 100% on the rollers themselves or even far as materials I want to use, so for now i may make this, sandblast and primer it, and not bother painting it until i figure out what i want to do in regards to that. Where it contacts the bed, i plan on spray gluing black felt to the steel.

Since I installed my roof rack on the side rails, I can't slide up the divider. DIY bed divider with lockable hinges. I used a lighter weight 1x8 pine wood x2 cut to 54 1/4, lightly stained black. Cut in half and install lockable hinges for easy removal. Cheap hinge a pair for $12

Does it fold flat to zero degrees like the hinge description says?

I made the same damn thing!
it’s nearly impossible to install/remove without being hinged.
🤓 I cut my straight divider a little short, it fits easily into slotted space, but is just a little difficult to get in place above slotted area. Just a little difficult. I have not heard a rattle but sometimes stuff small foam pieces on ends. Just in case.

Updated my bed divider with material I already had. To make weight lighter, I used 1x2's to build frame, and used free baby gate. Works great and very light
