I believe you mean loaners, not rentals.Unfortunately false. Ford Corp does tell the dealerships what is allowed since its "their money". That is why they have to diagnose the issue before they will even approve any rental while the vehicle is serviced. And it would appear there is no competent dealership in my area since I called all Ford dealerships within a 30-mile radius.
loaners are not provided by Ford Motor Company for routine work such as this, or required by FoMoCo of its dealerships. if you have a truck in for a single day that is 100% up to the dealership alone to chose whether they offer a loaner vehicle to you, or any customer.
during the post-lockdown supply issues, many dealerships stopped offering loaners because they had vehicles that could not be repaired for long periods of time and since they had little/no new vehicle inventory they sold their used cars which make up the loaner pool.
I have seen FoMoCo on occasion pay for a long-term loaner because repairs cannot be made in timely fashion. yours was never even diagnosed and parts ordered. they don't pay for loaners because a dealership lacks the technicians, integrity or other resources to properly diagnose an issue.
