Unfortunately false. Ford Corp does tell the dealerships what is allowed since its "their money". That is why they have to diagnose the issue before they will even approve any rental while the vehicle is serviced. And it would appear there is no competent dealership in my area since I called all Ford dealerships within a 30-mile radius.
I believe you mean loaners, not rentals.

loaners are not provided by Ford Motor Company for routine work such as this, or required by FoMoCo of its dealerships. if you have a truck in for a single day that is 100% up to the dealership alone to chose whether they offer a loaner vehicle to you, or any customer.

during the post-lockdown supply issues, many dealerships stopped offering loaners because they had vehicles that could not be repaired for long periods of time and since they had little/no new vehicle inventory they sold their used cars which make up the loaner pool.

I have seen FoMoCo on occasion pay for a long-term loaner because repairs cannot be made in timely fashion. yours was never even diagnosed and parts ordered. they don't pay for loaners because a dealership lacks the technicians, integrity or other resources to properly diagnose an issue.

We were told DIRECTLY from both, they would have to see the vehicle diagnose the problem and then they would approve the loaner.. My apologies again for the wrong word..... They also said we could get our own rental and then after everything is said and done they would then reimburse us the money.

Yeah I get it. Just trying to help the next person. But hey I guess being a decent person is not a thing anymore....
Appreciate you sharing, lemons happen with all makes / models and how the dealership & brand respond set them apart.

Emphasis on Dealership, the worst experience I've had was with Toyota on a damaged motor the local dealer would not cover (claimed hydrolock on a dry day due to a TRD intake.. sold by Toyota!). Even went through arbitration which is a joke if you're not coming with your own lawyer and independent ASE certified master mechanic, apparently Government issued weather reports of dry conditions at the time and location of failure aren't enough, had to prove a negative that failure was NOT due to water ingestion. In the end found a low mileage used engine for under $500 and did a self swap rather than deal with them again, once the initial findings were part of the service record no other dealer would touch it.

We've owned and had warranty items with Ford, Nissan, Kia, Toyota and Subaru. Have had to get the timing chain cover seal re-done under warranty due to oil leakage in pretty much every vehicle since form in place gaskets became the standard (Kia, Nissan and Subaru) and the Nissan is still beating the Maverick in recall count (8 vs. 5). Fingers crossed the hybrid Maverick issues all remain software-only.

Every other dealer has taken care of problems without issue or delays, though I've made it a point not to visit any dealer owned by the same group as the aforementioned Toyota. I'm out in the sticks and in some cases that meant driving an hour and a half to the next state but worth the extra time to not deal with incompetence.

Good luck with yours but really recommend you expand your search beyond 30 miles for any future work needed.

Thank you! I agree with Arb being a waste of time!! It was just more run around and nonsense. My FIL has a new Nissan Titan and it has been in the shop the same amount as the Maverick. Its just newer vehicles are not made to last.

As prior mentioned the actual mechanic working on the truck wanted to help us but was denied to do so. This was a terrible instance and hope no one else has to deal with what we went through. I will not be taking this to any dealership in our area moving forward, just hard to find anyone to trust.

I think the fact that OP is claiming they have an EB/Hy is very telling. Not only that, but complaining about that many issues but not really doing any research beyond trusting a dealership and claiming they're "being a decent human being" for the complaining is also telling.

Every manufacturer is having issues. It's not just Ford. My wife's Toyota has been having issues since day one. I don't go on the forums and complain. Issues happen no matter the brand. You're not doing anyone favors with this post. Especially since you couldn't name any actual things going one with the vehicle itself other than "the turbo got stuck". What does that even mean? How did you come to that conclusion? These trucks don't have boost gauges. Instead, OP complained about how everyone else is messing up. Victim mentality.

I own 6 Fords currently, three with the 2.0 EcoBoost, zero problems with any of them. Any manufacturer can produce a lemon and they are all incredibly difficult to deal with on buybacks, having had to deal with BMW once. Sorry, your level of hysteria screams troll.

Yes, I would absolutely love to complain about how we were treated throughout this whole issue. You should do the same thing and hold these companies accountable. This is why things are not made to last. There are older vehicles still on the road with less issues and less recalls, and that is why I will not trade in my other older vehicle. Its called bringing awareness to the problem.

Also since you know everything. We did months of research before the vehicle was even available. We pre-ordered the first vehicle and waiting 9 months before we were even able to get it. The selling point at the time was cost and size, plus the versatility of the truck bed. We even added some extras due to what other Maverick owners did to their trucks.

So what was going on is there was an AWD fault that came up on the Ford Pass App, didn't think anything of it at the time. Then we kept getting the same code for the waste gate getting stuck open or closed which means no air flow to the engine. Which in fact did cause performance issues. Considering they had to get the Ford Engineers involved because they themselves could not find out what would cause that to also trip the AWD we also do not know what actually happened or what cause it to happen.

And where is our Ford “Bot” during all of this? Hmm…
Wait, I'll fill in for him:

Well..... This one is not for the loyal Ford lovers.... Word Salad, etc....
MoreBadNews, We're sorry you are not enjoying your new Ford Maverick. Please send us your VIN and the name of the dealer that is servicing your vehicle...
