I found this thread (https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/how-to-save-money-on-keys-by-programming-yourself-from-a-locksmith-and-owner.27104/) and followed the key programming instructions for the Lariat push button start procedure using one of the keys listed by the @Redneck Garage .

The procedure is pretty straightforward: put key #1 in the depression (face up), push start without the brake (accessory mode), count to 5, push start, swap in key #2, repeat, swap in blank key, push and hold start (foot not on peddle). There should be a chirp, but there was nothing and the new key did not work. I did have all three fobs in the cab with me when I did this.

Is my procedure incorrect (I missed something critical) or has Ford changed the procedure on the 2025’s or could I just have had a bad key blank? Thanks.

Did you check the owner's manual?
There is nothing in the '25 owners manual. It's in the earlier ones, but not in the '25's. I had hoped the process was the same since the depression in the bottom of the console bin is the same.

I have not been able to get it to work either. I think the key FOBS need to be different than what has worked in past years (I have tried two different un-programmed key FOBS that look EXACTLY like the factory FOB). When I Google the code from mine (the one that came with the truck), they don't appear to be for sale yet. So I am going to wait for a FOB with the correct code to be for sale and then try one of those.

Page 67 of the manual online does seem to suggest that only the dealer can do it.

If so, that would be an unfortunate change.

Here is the procedure from the Ford workshop manual. Please pay attention to the notes, the spare key enabling is what I suspect is the problem. I will research how to change that but here you go.

Programming

NOTE:
This procedure works only if the spare key programming is enabled.

NOTE: Two previously programmed keys are required to perform this procedure. All the steps must be completed within 30 seconds.

NOTE: Make sure all the doors are closed prior to beginning this procedure and they remain closed until the procedure is complete.

  1. Locate the passive key backup starting location. Refer to the Owner Literature for the passive key backup starting location.
  1. Place the first programmed passive key in the backup starting location. Press the START/STOP button.
  1. Wait 5 seconds and then press the START/STOP button.
  1. Remove the first previously programmed passive key.
  1. Within 10 seconds, place the second previously programmed passive key in the backup starting location and press the START/STOP button.
  1. Wait 5 seconds and press the START/STOP button.
  1. Remove the second previously programmed passive key.
  1. NOTE: See the Owner's Literature for maximum number of keys that can be programmed to the vehicle.
Wait 5 seconds and then place the unprogrammed passive key in the backup starting location and press the START/STOP button.
  1. NOTE: If the key does not successfully program, wait at least 10 seconds before attempting to repeat the procedure.
Verify the RKE transmitter operates and the vehicle starts using the new passive key.

Update....
The "enable spare key programing" has to be done through the BCM and security system. I dont know if Forscan can do this if not then the dealer is the only one that can enable it

I was able to successfully program a 2025 Hybrid XLT key today using the procedure outlined above. I ordered the remote based on the FCC# M3N-A3C108397 found under the key blade.

The remote looks like this: (https://www.amazon.com/Keylessbest-Replacement-Control-PC3T-15K601-AA-Buttons/dp/B0D2WVYL19).

This remote apparently uses 434MHz vs the 315MHz used in prior years.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......I clicked that link and it is the exact same one I bought in January (and failed to program). I wonder if you got lucky. That code is not the same as the code on my keys.....

But I have an 2025 Maverick XLT AWD Hybrid, so maybe I need to go back out and try again!

Actually - not in the 24MY manual either, and I think that thread from above shows it's not in the others either.

Making MyKeys from existing keys is, not creating new ones to work.
So no different there - Ford's not going to give it away too easily.

Would be surprised the process that works for Maverick and actually a few other models doesn't work with 25MY.

After more than 30 tries over a 3 week time frame the procedure worked. Don't ask me why it worked. I had tried at least 10 times this evening and then it just worked. If I added up all the time I spent researching and seconding guessing everything, it would have been better to have a dealer do it with a flat rate quote.

Perhaps too slow or fast?

More info for this thread that seems to sound like it's very different.
