Hate is such a strong word. I'm one of those who live with it.

It's not the worst thing I live with by any means, and I still like the truck a lot.

Technically it is just a switch. As such I would prefer a different sort of switch. I prefer the piano key type switch some Ford products have. What I don't like is where the "shifter" is. I would prefer the console real estate be used for storage space. Put the shifter switch on the dash.

I don't have any real problem with the dial other than I would have liked a stiffer more defined detent between the gear positions, and not have the dial spin round and round.

Better detents needed.

I mean you hit the power button and it puts it in park and puts on the parking brake, nice.
You turn the truck on one click to back out of the driveway then fling it like the price is right wheel and hit the gas, nice
All you i keep hitting it people, keep your fing hands on the steering wheel, wtf are you feeling up the center console for when you are driving ? I mean it allows a nice servicing while driving without the worries of someone's head smacking the shifter knob, nice.

Let's all get upset about a real issue, like that the hybrid doesn't default to eco mode, I mean wtf.

Its interesting in the winter to get your truck rocking back and forth to get it unstuck. Traction Control OFF, Trailer mode then try to rock it..

Just wish it had a better grip...too slippery if hands wet or greasy .

I was wondering the same thing.
Growing up in the midwest. I learned how to rock a vehicle when it was stuck in the snow.

I hated the idea of a dial shifter, and told my salesman a shift knob was a deal breaker-

But, after realizing that my options were severely limited, decided to buy a Maverick anyway...

Hated it for a while, got used to it, and now I miss the knob when I drive other vehicles-

So I guess you can call me a knob lover???
