Good evening, Maverick123.I saw this post by @SafetyGuy in another thread and that sounds like a great idea for us in the frozen North ... putting the spare in the bed (under the tonneau) keeps it out of the snow, salt & ice and makes it easier to access if needed
Does anyone have ideas how to keep it from moving around in the bed? I'd like to keep the tire & SIBL from rubbing away at each other all winter ...
I just used an easy to release tie down strap I already had lying about.Ah, that's easy! Also I just noticed this thing in the current Princess Auto ad, it would probably work great but with a setup like yours, but I'd have to figure out where to attach the 3rd strap to ...

Yeah, it would be like driving a Honda Ridgeline. The spare is stowed away in the bed "trunk" so you can't access when the bed is loaded. Brilliant!Bad idea. Especially if you use the bed, making it unable to access. The other tires and rims seem to do quite well on the outside. Just my opinion.
Read the original post and find out.Why on earth would someone want the spare in the bed, in the way when it’s so well hidden below.
If you want to store your spare in the bed for whatever reason, that third strap is the most important one, in case you need to stop quickly & unexpectedly. Also I just noticed this thing in the current Princess Auto ad, it would probably work great with a setup like yours, but I'd have to figure out where to attach the 3rd strap to ...

Again, the other 4 tires and wheels do fine outside in the snow, slush, mud, water. They are made and manufactured for those specific conditions. IMHORead the original post and find out.
I think he is concerned of having a flat in a snow drift. Why on earth would someone want the spare in the bed, in the way when it’s so well hidden below.
I wonder how much the center of gravity is raised ? If one could feel it.
That is a pretty good item, with the third strap @Maverick123, and I might pop into one our local Princess Auto's to see if they have one in stock.Ah, that's easy! Thanks for the offer but I have some rubber mats that would work fine.
