Installed new Falken Wildpeak A/T3W Tires (235 65 r17)

I was thinking P235/65R17.

I was going back and forth between the 235's and the 245's, but finally decided on the 235s. I'm happy with my choice! I think you'll like the 235's!

I agree, they look great. The OEM Continentals don't have any appeal for me, kinda "blah, we'll get you there and that's all". Now you got me thinking, 235 or 245's .

Guess I'll ask the burning question! ...how'd it affect your mpg?

I have owned 2 Mavericks and one of them came with this tire. I assume some don't know that the '22 First Edition ecoboost models came with the Falken Wildpeak AT3W 235/65-17. Then a year later the '23 Tremor models used the same tire, and I presume the '24 Tremors will have it also.

I drove 35k on Falken Wildpeak AT3W on another vehicle, and 5k on my Maverick FE which did not have 4K tow, so it had the standard 3.63 gears, and now I've driven 22k miles on my current truck which has Michelin Primacy 225/60-18, and 4K tow with 3.81 gears. The tire is 1.4% shorter and the gearing is 5% shorter.

Yet on 2 lane highway going 70ish, I get about 2-3 mpg better with the Michelins, even with the slightly shorter gearing. at 80-85 on the interstate, the difference increases to 3-4 mpg better. This shouldn't be news to anyone by now, check the EPA mpg estimates on any Tremor window sticker.

I would still buy the Wildpeak because it does everything great that it intends to do. Great traction in rain and winter. Low noise and good steering response, for an all-terrain. Great traction off-road anywhere a Maverick should dare to go.

But, yeah. You're going to lose 3-4 mpg on the interstate.

If you jump up to 235's. I recommend changing your tire size in Forscan so your odometer and speedometer are more accurate.

I went up to 235s from 225s and if that's what the car came with, that's what the computer is calibrated for.

Do you have the 4K tow, or standard final drive ratio? I'm wondering with the standard 3.63 if it's a noticeable change to go from 225 to 235.

at 70 the difference is like 100-150 rpm, which probably is irrelevant.

I've had my Maverick Hybrid for about 16 months, and with the heavy snowfall we had in northern Utah this past winter, I decided it was time for some new tires! After reading lots of threads concerning tires, I decided on the Falken A/T3W's. I decided on 235 65 r17 size. I was thinking about the 245's, but finally decided on the 235's. Although I've only had them for one day, my initial assessment is I like them very much. They provide a smooth stable ride, and tire/road noise is minimal!

The folks at Discount Tires in Bountiful, Utah (Dawson) were great! They answered all my questions, and even took me to their tire storage area so I could see the tires in person before making my final selection!

Thought I'd post a few pics for anyone who thinks they may be interested in the Falken A/T3Ws

Yeah I figured I'd lose a few mpg, but for better control and piece of mind during winter driving, I thought it would be a fair trade-off.

That's the tire that came with my maverick EB turbo 2.0 k
XLT, I have been a Michelin Man for the last several years but I'm really thinking of replacing them with the same tires but they seem to be working very well but like I said I'm a Michelin Man we'll see when the time comes to do I got 14,000 miles on my maverick since February, tires are still like new,
