call your local news and tell them to do a story about it. Makes a good headline
Heck yea. Might put a little more pressure on Ford to find the chips needed. Bad publicity for a manufacturer to offer something, take orders and be given a delivery date, then push back those dates three or four times while expecting loyal customers to stick with them and probably not get any compensation for broken promises. The chip shortage was to have been addressed last year! Your dealer, like our local one, may just have added you name to a piece of paper to show Ford a demand to better their chance of obtaining some. If you got a VIN you can see what became of it. Something fishy here. Sorry for ranting, but I am in the same boat as everyone else with this crap and pretty tired of it

Real simple. Call the dealership, speak with the GM and tell em, Yeah what you are telling me is contrary to what Ford confirmed. Shall I have them call you directly?

Something is not right in their galaxy.

Adospeed just about the way it went. Dealership GM said he had no choice. Cited information received by their Ford Rep that Ford stopped taking orders and is not making any more hybrids this year. Had nothing to email me from the “rep” who said this and would not supply a name or title/ function. He confirmed mailing me back my deposit check this morning. I explained my contacts with Ford Corporate, and Maverick truck forums. Ford has me in their scheduling, people are receiving hybrids. No comment. Asked if he’d cancelled my order with Ford. Said no. Had him promise to leave it alone and set meeting with him on Monday. Talking with Ford New Vehicle Support Team prior to going to dealership to explain situation and see how they can support me.

@Mbr Good for you to stand up for yourself and your Mav order!!! This wreaks of total shenanigans. You called their bluff and it seems like they ARE bluffing.
Now, even if they do keep the order for you, unless you have a signed agreement on price, guess what the GM's next move is? Making you pay over MSRP once it arrives. Only thing I can think of/suggest is to get this dealership event documented directly with Ford on YOUR order in their system so that you're not left hanging dry when the truck comes in. I'd also ask Ford's customer service to send you an email confirming your order, and if they will document the events that have taken place. If they give that to you, then you can keep it safely stored, but verbally let the GM know you have it, letting them decide how much they want to risk when Ford now knows.
Keep us posted man, if it is what it appears to me, the dealership is trying to pull a fast one on you, and they thought they had a fool on the receiving end. Best of luck!

I ordered a Maverick XLT hybrid on September 13th. I have an email from Ford same day confirming they have received my order and I have been working to get paperwork from my dealership to confirm option changes made in mid November. I spoke with my sales person two days ago and she said she would confirm options ordered. I wrote her today to follow-up. She just sent me an email saying she regretted to inform me the dealership is unable to fill my order for a 2022 Maverick and they would send back my deposit and I could order a 2023 Maverick. I've had two conversations directly with Ford support people over the past three weeks and confirmed my order was received and would be filled. Why would a dealership send a note like that to a customer and what could be driving this arbitrary decision to back away from an order they accepted and was submitted, deposit paid, well before Ford stopped taking orders for the Maverick. This doesn't smell right and I'm looking for advice and leads to people at Ford who can help make sense of this out-of-the-blue and upsetting behavior. It's always something.
Go into the system and change dealerships and that way you don’t have to deal with them and you will get your Maverick without them.

He confirmed mailing me back my deposit check this morning.
Are you saying he sent you back your check? Or that he is sending you a dealership check in the amount of your deposit?

If it's a dealership check, don't deposit it until everything is settled. (I'm sure you know that, but I had to mention it to be sure.)

Unfortunately that is not an option.

First, get with the dealership and confirm the priority code. If it is truly 80, will Ford allow it to be changed to a retail order and allow it to proceed (would likely require a three way call between you, the dealership, and Ford). If not, it does seem like a breach of contract. You signed the order in good faith, and had it been submitted properly, it would have been accepted by Ford.

What dealership?

You raise a great question on Priority. Ask Ford Customer Service to get the Ford Regional Manager for your area involved, from what I understand they seem to have super powers to make such Priority edits.. Do It. This will get the Dealer's attention.

SDMavguy I live in northeastern Wisconsin. Local dealer is Witt Ford in Crivitz WI. Yes, working Monday morning to get Ford directly involved.

Why is that? Tim Bartz says you can change dealerships.
Mav2Scamp I was wondering if I could have my order moved to a different dealership. Anyone know process for doing this?

when you have your meeting with them at the dealership ask to see the status-veiw-sheet and look on hte line that says order# next to it it will say sales code next to it line maverick next to it,scheduleing-processing next to it and this is very important it will say (secondary-scheduled clean)this means your order is going to be built. But if it says(scheduled balance-out)you are not going to be ever scheduled for production and built. Now what cause this was when you made your change order in nov,if it was after the 15th the cut off date ford not only would have took you out of line but would have scheduled you as "balance-out" witch means the dealer cant do nothing about it,you will just set there as showing still in processing but it will never be scheduled for production never built and your dealer will know this so just right up frt tell them you want to see the "status-veiw" on your order or just tell me is it scheduled clean or balance out this is what you need to know because the maverick marketing team will just tell you it is still in processing because thats all they see on there screen.

I tried when my dealer tried to markup my order after the fact. Ford corp said there is no way you can move orders once they are orders. You can move reservations but once it’s an order you can’t move it.
