That's exactly what Tim told me and I went back to my dealer with that. It took them a WEEK to reply but told me that they tried and that did not work. My sales guy felt obliged to add to that message that his sales manager is also getting frustrated. So it seems it's not a lack of them trying, it's definitely something up the chain or their specific system that is causing this issue.

Welp, that's all the ideas I have...hopefully it works out for ya!!

I appreciate it. I found the two clips in the Ford video guy stream last night that are relevant (thanks commoadorebob)

I guess in the world of all the problems other Maverick customers are having, this is the least important but also a very dumb problem to have!

I wouldn't worry about it, just wait for them to get things fixed. It will still be 6 months before you even get a VIN for it.
What do you think Ford will be doing between now and June? Not building trucks?

I recently contacted my Dealership in regards to going to the ECB engine. I also am not scheduled but I was told Ford has balanced out all 2023 orders and no changes can be made. I find it curious that ECB orders are way under capacity and Hybrid way over capacity. It would seem logical to allow the change for those who want to do it. I expect I will not see a vehicle in 2023 and I will not roll over to a 2024. I will go somewhere else. Other makers are bringing small trucks back. Ford will lose a lot of customers over the handling of this.

I hope that's not the case. I don't know how Ford thinks it's okay to have an order bank open for 4 days and have to decide to add or do without the BAP without ever even seeing it. At the time, there were no pictures or details on what it included so we had no choice but to add it hoping it looked cool. Now they want to lock down the orders and not allow us to remove it once we know what it is? Pretty effed up! Thanks for sharing your experience though.

As far as buying elsewhere, I wouldn't mind if the prices were comparable. But the Maverick being so cheap has what brought me to Ford.

Have you not ordered a truck, or at least not been paying attention? It takes AT LEAST 4-5 months to get a VIN. besides that they're still catching up on orders from 2022 MY.

There are fresh/new 2023 orders that have already been scheduled and have a VIN. While many will still be waiting months for a VIN, I think you need to acknowledge that @minitrucknuts is correct in saying that Ford isn't taking a 4-5 month break. Will a lot of those be "roll over" 22's? Yes. Will the all be? No, as already seen in the reality that Ford has scheduled "new" 23 orders. What's to say that the person wanting to remove the BAP won't be one of them selected/assigned a VIN today?

I know there are exceptions, especially based on where you order your Maverick from. And I never said that Ford was taking a break, he made that assumption.

Yeah, no worries. I just don't see the point of telling the original poster to "just wait for them to get things fixed. It will still be 6 months before you even get a VIN for it."

While it is more likely than not that they will be waiting a long time for a VIN, it is not a bad idea to try to get the order all squared away ASAP. Since there are 23's being scheduled. Good vibes and positive outlook and all that mumbo jumbo.

Ordered a 22, had a vin in less than a month. Ordered 3 23s in sept, received 3 vins within 6 weeks.

I did? I think you are misunderstanding. You said "It will still be 6 months before you even get a VIN for it.", which is an extremely ignorant thing to say. You have no idea when they will receive a vin, and plenty of 23s already have received vins.

Not trying to argue, but in general, any given order, assuming the dealer as allocations, has about an 8% chance of getting built in Jan, 8% in Feb, etc etc. 50% chance it is less than 6 months, 50% chance it is longer than 6 months. Just as likely to be January as it is to be December (assuming they continue production of 23s that long).

Seems like some chicken littles think that because a very small group of orders took a long time, that all orders take a long time. They seem to either ignore, or be oddly unaware that Ford has been delivering a lot of Mavericks each month and will continue to do so.
