Dealer ordered, now what?

I ordered my Maverick (XLT, ALTO BLUE, FWD) at my local dealership, got a bill of sale with no VIN but prices were listed last week. When/will I get notice of when my truck will be built? How long til I get my new truck?

I ordered a Maverick when the order banks were opened this fall, so I joined up to this forum to get some insight as well.

You should get yours before I do. I give about a 55% chance that I get mine before Thanksgiving 2023. Who knows it might even be rolled over into the next year model. I ordered a Lariat Luxury package. As the saying goes, "good things come to those who wait."

The way I understand it now, if you have less constraints on your order, your vehicle will be built before the ones with more constraints. So... a Maverick order with a pure gas engine has a greater chance of being built before a hybrid engine order. A Maverick order that requires less chips has a greater chance of being built before the others (like those that have a luxury package.) I heard the spray in bed liners also cause a delay. So, there are all kinds of factors.

However, if they just so happen to have the right parts in stock for your vehicle build, it could be your lucky day.

If it turns real ugly over in Europe getting a truck we ordered will be something we won't have to worry about.

Did your order last week or get the data? Check with Ford your order is in, but if you ordered last week you didn't order.

Agree, Not even close. Some will start showing up at dealers in the second half of December. Those are probably even too optomistic, but maybe. Then it will go for many months.

Why do you recommend this? Most dealers only have a handful of orders and priority code will not make much difference.

Just depends on the dealer. Larger dealers will still get in the hundreds.

OP, you.. wait. Seriously. And don't expect to hear much from Ford, maybe once every 45 days to 2 months, but even that's not guaranteed.

Every now and then you'll get an email that updates you on the next step, it'll look a lot like your order confirmation email from Ford, at each major step of the process. (Order received, scheduled for production, built, shipped)

You can of course bug Ford, but don't expect to get much more than they send you via email. The customer service reps don't have any more, and thousands of people are waiting out delays because the world has gone to shit.

All in, it could take upwards of a year to get your truck, and that's assuming that it doesn't hit any order constraints, that shipping goes well, etc.

OP .... Reality ^^^ ..... All of us who own 2022s waited a minimum of at least 8 mos unless you ordered in June 2022 and got a lucky delivery in 3rd quarter 2022.

Problem is by reading the OPs description I'm not even sure they have an order. Wondering if they got scammed, or some pre-order for when the banks open in the future. If they just ordered last week they sure don't have a '23. And saying they have a bill of sale but no build sheet... Something's off.

How long will you be waiting for your truck? Let's just say it this way. I ordered a hybrid XLT with lux and CP360 on 15 Oct 21. I still don't have it.

Mine took mine month...no emails...no updates. If I called the dealer they would say they had no idea. One day, I got a call saying to come pick up my truck. I hauled butt to the dealer and picked it up so no one got thinking I wouldn't buy it.
