I went to a dealership and inquire about ordering a Maverick. They said I need to put $500 deposit and said they don't charge mark up price. I was planning to order an XLT hybrid with a luxury package, it came up with a net price of $26,765. Will that be the price I'm paying when my truck comes in the dealership since they said they don't charge mark up price? Can the dealership change they're mind when the truck comes and decide to charge me mark up price?

The short answer is YES. It's important to get a sales contract that is signed by both parties to minimize this possibility.

Get your purchase order signed. Also remember you will be paying taxes and stuff outside the MSRP.

They may not add mark-ups, but is that price inclusive of other dealer and admin fees, tax/title/reg? As others have said, you need a signed purchase order and that will list the final price for the truck.

Are they still taking hybrid orders? I have read elsewhere that hybrid orders were shutdown until Ford starts ordering for the MY 2023.

Get that buyers order. Don’t take anyone for their word at a dealership. Verify and verify. Ask every question! You don’t want to get the truck and get slapped with a $2,000 admin fee.

Edit add - it takes so long for the vehicle to come in you don’t even know if your salesperson will still be working there. Everything needs to be in writing ✍

that stinks I ordered my xlt hybrid in oct. put $500 down. no (real) markup-no dealer fee) was window sticker plus$500
the toyota dealer has 4 broncos 500-700 miles on them selling at 20 to 30 thousand over org. sticker. our ford dealer has them ( to order) at window sticker and bronco sports at usually $500 under sticker, my 2019 stx f-150 was a year end sale deal march 2020 ,it was $9,000 off sticker and they gave me $2,000 more for my ram than the ram dealer, no issues with them.

Just found this on Mullinax Ford in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Notice the mileage, and the markup…

No Dealer Fees??? What about the dealer mark-up?
Did not ask about dealer fees, but from what I have heard, they have no dealer fees. But with that mileage, and marked up over $5k, nope. That should technically be a used vehicle.

Could be, but I think I read somewhere that if it had over 500 miles it was “classified” as a used vehicle.

Yes, I think that varies by state.

did they mention fees they can add dealer fee 10k you need a signed contract with both party's signature with tax and fees added then if your lucky and its a honest shop you have a chance and forget Sueing lawyers are expensive..
