Dash rattle fix using foam window seal

I will be calling the dealer Monday morning to set up an appointment. Seems odd that it should take a half day to reflash the computer with the software fix!

During my last oil change (a couple of weeks ago) they did all the current recalls including that one, then I got the letter. Took most of the day

Thank you VegasRed and your wife for your post ref. Using window seal foam.
Problem is 100% fixed!
My rattling was so bad that I had a case opened with Ford.
Used some foam that came with a recent purchase I made of a floor lamp and tucked it in between the dash and the firewall underneath the windshield where the right speaker is. Used the same tool I used to install the Kia auto Dimming mirror (trim remover)
All good now, thanks again!!

Proper fix , glad to see people take the initiative to do what a dealer would do after 1/2 a day diagnosis and another day of warranty charged work only to have those production costs added to the next ford vehicle I buy!

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience with this issue, do you mind share a photo of where exactly you have insert the foam, and did you insert the foam from the glove box or from the top? Thanks

Hi, sure thing. I tucked the foam in at the top between the windshield and the dashboard using the auto trim removal tool kit, on both sides(passenger side rattle noises was more critical). See photo attached

My teenage son is learning how to drive so I’m in the passenger seat with the radio off and the rattles are driving me CRAZY!!
I find myself pressing on various parts just to see which one is the source and sticking cardboard to stop it.
The rattle is the worst part about this vehicle!!

While I'm waiting for our 2025, I've been reading about these "rattle / noise issues. I've had similar in my BMW and recently in our Genesis. Have found this felt to be very useful.
