That is a great video explaining what may be the vacuum sound. With that in mind, I'd love to see more effort to contain NVH. Again, this is the noisiest car/truck I've ever owned. For context my other cars have been multiple Toyota trucks & 4Runner, Honda Element & Odyssey, Infiniti QX60...
We recently hit 15,000 miles since March! Getting into EV mode is like gently threading the needle but its very short lived since its only a 1.1 kWh battery. The most we've gotten up to is 39.1 MPG and we are driving in Normal mode and do use seat and wheel heat more than HVAC. I'd love...
Cyberdog thank you for the detailed explanation and glad to know I'm not the only one. I'd still love to quiet things down. Do you think the hood insulator would make much of a difference?
To a degree, yes but I've had plenty of $40k cars that I've never encountered this at all. NVH is something that relates to design & quality control and it seems Ford missed the mark. Once you hear and feel it its very irritating. Its a shame since this truck has many great qualities. I just...
Just picked up my truck. Surprisingly the the dealer not only validated my concerns for the grinding and A/C but they also provided a detailed description. However, I'm very disappointed in Ford's design. I don't like this Atkinson motor/Hybrid system and the HVAC software. Likely going to be...
The grinding I feel and hear it which is why I asked the dealer to check. However, I know its hard to produce and just need to drive the car. We had it since March and have 8k miles so I know its very real and it makes me cringe.
The insulation might help the vacuum sound and if I can get a win...
This is my first Ford and first Hybrid. This engine is very noisy. 1) there's subtle vacuum sound that seems like its sucking air in/out. 2) when the engine warming up and toggles from electric to hybrid I hear and feel a grinding that feels like it comes from the transmission tunnel near the...
Saw this today and wondered if anyone has tried this brand? Its made for the Maverick and seems like a thicker material than the Maxzina one others have posted.

That is a horrific experience and first I've heard where there's all this bouncing around. It certainly does not seem normal. If you still want it, I'd first confirm it is there and tell them to take a picture of it or do a video call so you have a higher level of confidence. Alternatively, you...
Exactly what I hear as well. I pulled over a couple times after first getting it. This is an excessively noisy motor. Had I observed this during the test drive I may have not picked it. This seems to be a NVH issue that Ford probably could have addressed.
Yes, I hear it too and have no idea what it is. We only have 1,800 miles and observed it since day 1. When I first heard it I thought it was the faint sound of a ambulance coming.
I'd love to get up to that. Since we got ours Feb 3rd, we have racked up about 1,700 miles and only seen up to 35.0 from mixed town & freeway driving.
How many miles do you have? Are you more town driving?
