The past three days, the Mrs. has gotten into the Maverick and at startup, the dash was lit up with the following messages and more:
Pre-Collision Assist Not Available
Service AdvanceTrac
Hill Start Assist Not Available
Lightning Bolt Dead Head symbol (battery?)
Two Wheel Peel symbol (traction control?)
None of the Drive Modes work
Steering feels wonky
She was near our dealership, so she stopped-in, but naturally, they wanted to blame to 245-65-17 tires. They cleared the codes and suggested going back to the stock tires.
I'm going to swap back to the stock 235-65s and see if it comes back. I'm not willing to accept that a slightly (1/2") taller tire is going to cause this, especially with all of the Mavs running around with this size (and taller)
Any ideas?
Thanks

The battery icon (if indeed that's what it was - quicker with camera!), throws a red flag to their theory.

And in fact could be the problem. Glitch with just 1 sensor due to battery would cascade to the other issues/lockouts.

Got the means of measuring your own voltage, seeing if it's in good & healthy range, or hugging the line?

With all of the battery issues everything seems to have lately, that was my first thought. Truck has less than 4000 miles on it, but it does at least have an AGM battery in it.

And just like any battery taken off a shelf usually has a warranty to cover the potentially odd bad one - you could have been the winner of such a bad battery.

I can't find the icon, but it's the lightning bolt in a circle to the left of the tach ((Z))

Perhaps this left one - which means it fits in with the other wheel related items mentioned, and not actually the battery or charging system.

I'd still suggest get out multi-meter and see what Volts you got.

I would have told them to show me and prove how the bigger tires cause the issue.

YES, the one on the left. I'll grab the meter after work

Pull the codes. I've run that size tires for almost 3 years now. Your dealer is full of 💩.

My money right now is on a wheel speed sensor or wiring... But pull the codes.

An easy thing to check is the center console disconnect which is accessed by popping the close out panel at the forward end on the right side. Everything in the console goes through this connection. I got some of those messages when I pulled the console without disconnecting the battery first.

My 2025 just did the same thing during a rain storm.

12.6 volts when running; definitely should be above 13V when running. When I called, I told the Service Writer that I thought it might be a battery issue, but they obviously never put a meter on the battery. They just looked at the aftermarket tires and wheels and put blame on them, which we all know is BS. I've been thinking battery issue all along, but I swapped the stockers back on last night just to appease the "technicians" in the Service Dept. We have to go on a short trip tonight, so we'll see if they pop-up again.

So after a night sitting with micro-drain on it, might dip below the line of enough juice on initial start. They should do their more serious load test on it.

And since that is rather pitiful while charging, that's it's own issue.

Have you tried to top off the battery charge with a maintainer and reset the BMS?
