The Rove R2-4K Dual looks like a good product. Do you use the app to view videos/pics or do you remove the card? If you use the app do you have to pay for upgrades to use all of the apps functions. The app I use for my dashcam requires an upgrade to use advanced functions.Good day
I have and really like my ROVE camera's and I have a single Rove in my camper van and a dual (x2) Rove camera in my Maverick. They came with the proper SD memory card (important to get a fast enough card to work properly) and a plastic trim removal tool...but go buy a set off Amazon, I had a set already).
Lots of good cameras but whichever you pick, I would recommend that you get a dual camera which you are then recording what is going on in front of your truck as well as the 2nd camera mounted in your rear window covers your back.
Most accidents it seems are rear-enders, and having both can help with hit and runs as both ends of your truck are covered.
With the Rove and many other good cameras, they can be plugged in via your OBD2 data port (how I power mine) or you can get the plug system to hard wire it in...this allows your camera to wake up and start recording if it senses your truck has been hit while you are not there.
Watch several installation videos so you can see how to run the wires and so that you do not interfere in all the air bags (in the front pillars for example) ability to properly deploy. If they don't mention to watch out for the air bags, find another install video!
Good luck in your search,
Andy
