My main goal is to not have my phone connected in anyway (wired or bluetooth) to my truck. If my backup phone doesn't end up working I'll likely use my TomTom.
I downloaded all of the US maps for the Sygic GPS app that I am currently using. I think I'm going to give the OSMAND app a try once I get my backup phone powered up again (need to replace the swollen battery first)
In my previous vehicle I used a TomTom and had no issues. Since the Maverick has a reasonably nice screen in it I'd much rather use that for the navigation.
So no matter what the phone has to be connected to the truck whether it's with a cord or wireless dongle.
I still have my previous Samsung phone (saved as a backup phone). From what I've been able to find out the gps location service will work on that phone even without an internet...
