Dawn is good if you want to strip the wax off of your car.

I’ve been using Chemical guys. I might try something new for the Maverick
Dawn is super strong detergent. I ONLY use Dawn to strip any and all of the old wax and polishes.

Chemical Guys: I know of them but have never used them. So I wouldn't be able to say which one I like best. What I can say is that Adam's Polishes is made for the professional detailers but is used by the DIY'ers. A professional product that is simple apply without having to be a genius to use it.

Exactly. Agree, no detailing services for me either. That is my hobby in retirement. First order of business is Iron Remover, then Clay Bar. Got to get all the crap off before even thinking about correction and protection.
Why Iron Remover on a new paint job?

Why Iron Remover on a new paint job?
You'd be surprised how much Iron gets deposited on your paint surface during the rail transport and the car carrier. Here is what the Adam's Polishes site says:

"Adam’s Iron Remover is a special product that has the chemical ability to help remove Iron(III)oxide particles from your vehicle’s paintwork without the need to do so mechanically. When Adam’s Iron Remover hits your paint, it loosens up these particles and allows you to easily and safely rinse them off."

Here are a couple of photos I took when I sprayed Iron Remover on my new Toyota Avalon Hybrid the day I brought home from the dealer.

Trunk: Note the purple lines, that is the Iron Remover doing it's job.

Speaking of getting Crap off. If the dealer doesn’t listen and adds their dealership sticker/whatever how do you go about getting that off cleanly?

Most of the time they just peel right off. Sometime you gotta hit them with a hair dryer for a bit to soften up the adhesive. If there is any residual adhesive, you can use goo gone or WD40 to clean it off. Make sure to hit it with soap and water after that to get rid of the solvent.

Yep goo gone or WD40 and a heat gun on low setting or hair dryer. If they stick a dealership emblem use some fishing line and a sawing motion to separate the emblem from the paint.

I'm with you on that one!! I think it's 🐂:poop: they put their logo on your vehicle to ride around advertising their business!! Did they give me a cut in price? Free oil changes or Banana peels for my Flux Capacitor? No, well then take your ad off my Mav!!

If they need to put something on then a rear license plate holder is fine and I’ll take that off after I leave but they better not drill into the front bumper putting one on because I will be one upset camper.

Everything the guys responded is what I would do as well. That is typically the first thing I do when I drive into my garage. Take that crap off.

So long as you can do a better job, and I bet you can.

we were donated a DYC wrap and anonymous DYC employee was gracious enough to upgrade us to a green and purple Hypershift pearl coat, the foundation’s colours. So that will be our protective coating hopefully for the first 3 years or so.
I've wrapped 3 vehicles and liked all of them. Mine were vinyl wraps though. I saw the website you originally posted about it and thought about it. Think I'm over the wrap stuff. I'll just ceramic coat it and keep it shined up. But I couldn't walk away from a freebie either. Good deal.

Truck and others are frequently DYC dipped, no wax
