No way would I put bathroom cleaner on my windows to bake in the sun. It’s just a matter of time before it clouds up for good.

Thanks for all of the advice. I tried some Invisible Glass on my wife's car. It worked great!

I might be kind of old school, but Windex and paper towels seem to do the trick. After a regular washing to get the big gunk off.

For me, I just use straight rubbing alcohol to get rid of that haze on the inside. Cheaper than the commercial products and works great to be streak free. If it’s actually dirty, I use regular window washing fluid first, but the rubbing alcohol with a microfiber cloth to finish for crystal clear results.

I asked the detail manager at my dealership what they used. Invisible Glass, it is meant for automotive use, do NOT use regular household window cleaner, they have ammonia and other chemicals that will eventually take the tint out of your aftermarket window tints.
He said the to spray the cleaner on a micro fibre towel, get the towel damp, clean small areas at time, then polish the area with a new micro fibre towel. When the towels are dirty or the polishing one becomes damp, get clean ones. Works great for me.

Ken
P.S. It also works great on my eye glasses and phone screens.

It's not the cleaner, it's what you clean it with. The best hack for clean, streak free glass is..... newspaper. Yep. just wad up a ball of newspaper, with your preferred glass cleaner (NOT toilet cleaner!), and be amazed. It's also a good idea to wear disposable gloves to avoid getting the ink on your hands, tho it does wash off easily.

What a thread. 🤨

Distilled water or a purpose-made glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth to get the chunks off, dry rub with paper towels to get films and oils off, scrape with a plastic razor to get tar off. Follow those last two up with the water/glass cleaner and microfiber again to finish it off.

If it's not coming off with those, you aren't using enough elbow grease.

ANYTHING is better than Windex
They took the ammonia out of it ages back, so the formula since then has been a bit so-so.

There's a movie where the dad keeps saying "spray some windex on it" for minor abrasions, which is not long before they stopped. It made some kind of sense then because that after bite stuff that brings down mozzie bites and inflamed scratches etc uses ammonia.

He said the to spray the cleaner on a micro fibre towel, get the towel damp, clean small areas at time, then polish the area with a new micro fibre towel.
After being amazed that my phones, iPads, and computers always came back with sparkly screens from the Apple Store--which I couldn't duplicate--I finally asked how they did it. Mine always seemed to streak.

They wet their fingers, and flick not much water onto a microfiber towel!

For vehicles windows, I keep a spray bottle of windshield fluid (currently coming from tablets that make a gallon or so) and use microfiber.

Water with Dawn dishwashing liquid, applied with a terry cloth towel and removed with a squeegee. The nice thing about using the squeegee, is that you can get the edges of the windshield with ease.

I just did this yesterday, works a charm.

I am less worried about the glass than I am anything in the vehicle interior you might accidentally spill it on. It sounds like you are being cautious, but most fabrics/carpets are not going to enjoy a spritz of that. For me, the risk would be too great. I'd also shy away from using that in such a confined space. On the positive side, I bet your Maverick smells cleeeeean.

I believe you when you say it works, but you are essentially using a military-grade flamethrower to accomplish light household dusting. :)
Yup, like using the "Ma Deuce" for squirrel hunting!

Sprayway glass cleaner, Zep foaming glass cleaner or if I run out of those, Invisible Glass as third choice.
Sprayway has a very high percentage of alcohol so it cuts right through any grunge or haze and leaves the car smelling better than the other two.
I was using Sprayaway 60 years ago on Chevys, Oldsmobiles and Cadillacs!! LOL!!
