No such thing Terry, as the aftermarket sidemarkers from Speedpro are the same other than lens appearance.

The oem interior side markers are just grey plastic, no reflective chrome interior. The Speedpros have a black plastic housing only difference, I doubt that either color helps more in one way or another and reflectability.

I included a photo of the inside of the OEM side marker. You can see there's nothing to reflect light off the back of the housing it's just a flat gray plastic with just the light shining through the housing cover.

Yes, there is such a thing Todd and I'm aware of how they compare to OEM, as I own a set. I'm talking about the reflectivity of the outer lens, not the internal housing. The OEM amber lens reflects ambient light and light from oncoming traffic very brightly, and these don't reflect that light back to oncoming traffic at all. You can easily test this by shining a light at them. That reflection improves visibility of your vehicle even when the marker lights aren't on.

I like the look of the markers, but my opinion is that the aesthetic improvement isn't worth giving up that function. Markers serve no purpose other than to increase the visibility of your vehicle to other drivers and that's the reason manufacturers have been required by law to include reflective markers since the late 1960s. Since the sellers don't mention it I think it's worth mentioning here so that customers are aware, in case they care about it as well. I think they're a great option for the price for those that don't care. When I commented about this to the seller, they immediately refunded my money without a reply, so they are aware of it.

If it is dark enough for lights to reflect off the sidemarkers then you should have your lights on. That would make your Maverick visible more than just a reflector.

OK, and what if your vehicle is parked in a dark parking lot, garage, street or driveway and you want people driving around it in tight quarters to easily see it? Are you going to have your lights on then?

Ok, gotcha. I mistook that you meant the bowl of the housing was reflective vs the lense itself.
