I understand that your upset about the check engine light, however I laugh at the Toyota argument
they were having the frames breaking apart all the way into 2010. Does that mean you should never buy a Toyota, of course not. When Toyota had the stick wide open throttle problem, they argued it couldn't happen. All I'm saying is these are machines and every manufacture within the last three years has been screwed up with the supply chain problem. It sounds as if it is probably a minor vacuum leak. Should this happen, NO, however it is under warranty.

Hey there pb3-

I had the same message pop up on my app...
No
It healed it's self and hasn't come up again.

Remote start works fine though the app.

By the way, your domestic vehicle comment is hilarious...
(You sound like a major drama queen)
Maybe I should change my username to" drama queen"🤔🙄

This is not a catastrophic code. Visit the dealer when you return home, and let the warranty to it's job.

There is a lot of mixing between anecdotes and trends here… one failure does not make a trend. Nor the reverse.

Any vehicle can have a problem or failure at low miles, but over time building up the data on vehicle failures can show a statistical probability of whether a vehicle could have early issues, depending on not only the manufacturer, but the assembly plant as well.

It’s hard to deny data shows a Japanese built Toyota/Mazda will have high build quality and statistically less initial problems. Their North American plants are almost as good. Ford seems to have a higher variation based on the plant. Insiders say Oakville consistently has relatively good build quality whereas Chicago does not. Don't know about Hermosillo, but overall it’s pretty clear Ford has more quality issues than most, and Farley, to his credit, admits it and is taking steps to make it better (although it’s harder than he thought it would be).

You can still have a Toyota with a problem in the first thousand miles, and a Ford that is trouble free. But statistically you know the Ford is more likely to have a problem than the Toyota. That’s just what it is, regardless of individual anecdotes.

Having said that, I’m still taking my Maverick because I like what it is and will accept the possibility (still just a possibility) of more quality issues.

Yep, every single domestic car breaks down before 1,000 miles and there has never been a Toyota with an issue.

And of course I'm sure you followed the engine break-in guide in the owner's manual.
He didn’t say he “broke down”, he said “he had a check engine light on before 1000 miles”! Which In turn means time wasted dealing with something that shouldn’t have happened!
9 1/2 times out of 10 it’s going to be a “domestic” manufactured vehicle that this happens too. And it’s sad!

Decided to take a last minute trip a few hundred miles down the road and didn't even get to our destination before the engine light came on. Only have 860 mi and 2 months with the vehicle. I know I'll get bashed for saying this but...t's my first domestic vehicle will probably be my last. If I can't even make it to 1000 mi before issues arise, it doesn't leave me with much confidence that it'll last long term. It's a shame cuz we've really enjoyed the vehicle up until this point

Pretty much same here. Had a Ford maybe 15 years ago for about 2 years and it was fine (used ranger). Been with "non domestics" before and until now. Giving Ford a chance, 600 miles and based on all issues I'm seeing I'm due for something here soon.

There should be 0 excuses to have issues this early (every OEM) and of course forums is where people express concerns but concerns are all same..(airflow , heat exchanger, leaks and few others I'm drawing a blank on).

Maybe for fun I'll browse other forums and see what issues people are having on their new cars...

I wouldn’t do anything to attempt repairs. This is under warranty and is Ford’s responsibility to correct. Ford should also use the problem and solution as part of data collection. Ford Engineers shall develop a solution and get instated into manufacturing.

…. That’s supposed to be how this works.

That is the advise I am taking... Their responsibility let them fix it.. or more than likely they will clear the code and say nothing's wrong go on about your way 🙄

Clear the code with your tool and monitor the situation. If it comes back then you know the issue is not resolving itself. If it does not come back, well, happy day.

I’m thinking maybe pull the oil dipstick and reinstall then using the plastic gas funnel insert and remove a few times just in case the flapper was stuck.
