It takes a LOT of self control to keep it organized and neat. My wife hates that I won’t let her put her stuff in it but that rule has to be enforced or I’d be surrounded by seasonal decorative crap! Her house, My garage!!
Once I had a wife and that was our rule too. Now I can't blame anyone for the garage but myself! But it will take one or two trips to the local charity collection place to get rid of the stuff I no longer use. I just putting stuff in the garbage when it's still useable. The coming of the Maverick has given me a goal and objective so it good to have a reason to get rid of the stuff.

I can only dream.

Married into the house with a 1 car garage. The garage queen is HER car. I have a carport and a shed. The carport is mine and the shed while big has some junk in it. I've started cleaning it up and have maybe another day or two. Problem is I need a truck to go to the dump. Guess what's NOT here yet? Yep once each Maverick. So it's on the back burner.

How about Charlie for the trucks name as it's mavs ol lady in the movie? And raising the rear sears a few inches adding 3 jlw7 10s under them, swapping the xlt cloth for leather with heated and cooled seats, 2 or 3 inch lift with as much tire as will fit and a extra set of rims for better fuel when not playing.

If I get mine before Christmas I am thinking about getting a small (4 foot or so) Christmas tree, with decorations and lights and setting it up in the bed. 😆

Wild ideas? Not really wild but I’m seriously considering stopping by Walmart for a few rolls of painters tape to cover the front end with before driving the 400+ miles home…
I tried that on a GM plastic car I drove 450 miles home from the dealer. It rained the entire way home. I still don't know where that tape went. :)

I appreciated reading the comments in the thread, “Overall attitudes toward the process,” but I’m hoping for a lighter topic to brighten the mood. Or did I misread the room? I do that.

I’m single, I’m a teacher on summer break, and apparently I currently have few enough hobbies, responsibilities, or troubles to occupy my thoughts. So where does my mind keep wandering off to? Nobody cares? Well I’ll tell you anyway! I can’t wait for my first new vehicle in twenty years!

When contemplating my sweet new trucklette, I find I’m entertaining some wild ideas, (for me) and asking some pretty inane questions:
Should I add vintage white stripes down it’s alto blue flanks?
Should I purchase aftermarket wheels because those default Lariat luxury wheels are so shiny; even though I never once spared a thought for the wheels on my 2001 Civic?
What song should I play first?
What will I name her? Does Maverica sound Spanish? Would that be bad if it did?
Is there a cordless vacuum that also serves as a blower that fits in the under-seat storage so I can detail my new baby twice daily?

There. My session is over. The burden has been lifted, or at least shared. Anyone else want to admit to harboring brilliant ideas that somehow lost their shine after a good night’s rest?
It changes on a weekly basis, but I’ll most likely listen to a LOT of Katatonia, Karnivool, and tool on my 8 hr drive home!

My crazy thing...
I'm 40. Daddy is 84 and wants to bucket list the Smithsonian and Amtrak ride there...from Mississippi...
Rental cars are about $200 a day so...
Amtrak to Philadelphia PA.
Uber 10 miles to Chapman ford for Maverick.
Buy new wheelchair.
Philly Cheesesteaks sandwiches, maybe with Ed Simpson.
Ground Zero.
Statute of liberty.
Smithsonian for a few days.
Take 2 casual days coming back to Mississippi.
Pray Daddy stays in good health until then.

Ok, don’t laugh, but since you wanted the lighter side of things this should bring you a chuckle. I’m attaching my “mock up” of want I want to add to my little blue truck. I’m also a teacher too! Not on summer break anymore though……#banddirectorprobs

Sounds like a great trip. I don't envy you driving into NYC, I've done a few times and it always a hair raising experience and forget about parking! Still with a bit of planning I'm sure it will be a great trip for you and your Dad!

NYC is not set in stone. Hours of travel for 2 items and we mostly want the Smithsonian.

Also he was a truck driver and hated NYC, Chicago, etc.

Smithsonian is a really an enjoyable visit and parking, at least when I was there a few years ago wasn't bad. The last time I did NYC I trained/subway into the city and took a helicopter rider around to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Ground. Certainly not the same as having boots on the ground, but at least my sanity was saved.

It sounds like y’all know WAY TOO MUCH about truck detail. Anyone in DFW and willing to help me with whatever the hell is the best process for a new truck?
