Does the base Maverick XL hybrid have lights that come on automatically every time you start the truck ? Can that feature be disabled?

Yeah, the little lights knob can be manually turned off. obviously a safety feature like that is going to need to be turned off each time you restart the truck tho..

Daytime running lights can be turned off in the instrument cluster settings.

I know the bed is 4.5 feet. Just hoping to find the length of the tailgate or the entire length of the front of the bed to the back of the tailgate.

Tailgate is 2foot tall, so 6.5ft from bed wall to tailgate end, when lying fully open

bed wall > tail gate: 6'7"

About a two inch gap between bed end and tailgate bottom.

2 Feet from bed end

tailgate actual length: 22 inches

Don't forget that if you use the tailgate in the "partially up" position it could take several inches off that length!
