  1. What is the benefit of rear sliding window?

Dang Jessica, I wanted to say that. :) I've had the sliding rear window on most all of my trucks, and the times I've used them can be tallied on one hand. But, I still ordered my Ranger with one. Go figure. I just knew if I didn't get the sliding rear window I would need it soon after I got the...
  2. Transparency?

With respect George many dealers have no earthly idea what is going on, and take absolutely no time in finding out. Most all dealers only care about what they can sell today as ones that aren't built make them no profit. Salepersons are even worse. because if they don't have it to sell they...
  3. Transparency?

Luke, welcome to the wizarding world of the Ford Motor Company. You should see/hear what's going on with the Bronco. It will make the Maverick look like a walk in the park. 1 -There's really no way to know how many Maverick orders Ford has. Even if we did it wouldn't give any insight into when...
  4. Delivery changes weekly

Thanks Lori. I've told myself to try my best to forget about the Bronco for a while. But, dang that's hard. One of my many plans consisted of getting the Bronco, and then sometime after that trade the Ranger for a Maverick. However as the old saying goes, "The best laid plans of mice, and men"...
  5. Delivery changes weekly

Don't cancel if your trucks been built. It looks like the Maverick is having the same troubles as the Bronco. Built, and then the ship date is pushed, or the build date changes every other day. I understand how aggravating this can be. My Bronco went from a possible late summer '22 build to...
  6. Shipping from Chapman PA to Texas

You should. I bought Chebbie in Maryland, traded for it, and paid the tax on the sell price after the trade. The same if I would have done the deal in North Carolina. Best way to get the answer is to call your local DMV office.
  7. Floor Liners / Mats - Ford vs Weathertech

I've had WeatherTechs, and the wife's Mustang has the Ford liner. Both are good quality. $135 front and back sounds reasonable to me.
  8. Price gouging dealership

Exactly Jim, and that's what keeps dealers doing this. Myself, I don't care what a dealer ask for their vehicles. I can move on to another dealer. Heck, I would be hard pressed to even pay sticker price. :)
  9. Maverick vs. Ranger

As you can see in my Avatar I have a Ranger with the STX trim. It's a great truck. If you want to tow, and, and do landscaping the bed of the Ranger is some bigger. And, believe me that "some" bigger will make a difference. And, towing capability between the 2 goes without saying. As others have...
  10. Any other 2.0 orders hoping the power is enough?

I was going to say you'll be fine, and this just solidified that. The 2.3L in my Ranger has more than enough power, so a better power to weight ratio will make the Maverick a quick little trucklette.
  11. Confessions: Wild ideas and inane questions. What’s yours?

I tried that on a GM plastic car I drove 450 miles home from the dealer. It rained the entire way home. I still don't know where that tape went. :)
  12. Parking a truck

I ordered the Ford spray in liner for my Ranger. The drain holes are still there, so hopefully the Maverick is the same.
  13. 80k+ Maverick reservations so far! (per Ford's Q2 earnings call)

With the Bronco we were told that Ford received somewhere in the neighborhood of 165K reservations, and on the first round of orders they received approx. 125K orders. Since then Ford hasn't issued any more numbers. With orders, and reservation being canceled because of the chitshow that has...
  14. EcoBoost Maverick, really ?

Chris, I would think the Maverick would do better than the Ranger, but I don't know what the rear gearing is in the Maverick. My Ranger 2.3L EcoBoost w/3.73 gearing get 26-27 mpgs cruising. With the Maverick weighing less it should do better than that. With that said there is a saying, "You can...
  15. Ford Protect Extended Service Plans

Toby, they are accurate at the time you check. Prices change from time to time. As I said above I've bought from Flood, and it was EZPZ.
  16. Ford Protect Extended Service Plans

If you're interested in a Ford genuine extended warranty do an online search first. There are several dealers that sell online at a discount, and it will save you a bunch of money, i.e. Ziegler Ford, Flood Ford, Lombard Ford, and several others. Just search "discount genuine Ford extended...
  17. Where to find order number?

I don't know Donald. I went by the dealer to get the oil changed in the wife's car, and my salesguy caught me and said he had the VIN for my Ranger. I assumed (and you know what that does) he got some kind of notification. But, I can't say that for sure. I suggest to just call your sales person...
  18. Rear legroom in Maverick for big & tall people / passengers - 6'4" tested

Oh no, maybe the deposit is refundable if you don't have a VIN yet. Like you I don't know what Ford is doing with interiors in their new vehicles. It doesn't make any sense to me.
  19. New Lawsuit Targets Ford EcoBoost Four-Cylinder Coolant Leaks

Yes sir, it has been taken care of. In my mind it's just another bullshit law suit taken by an ambulance chasing lawyer that has nothing else to do. No one makes out on law suits of this nature but the lawyer. And, then the companies just pass the loses to it's future customers. We desperately...
  20. Military Appreciation Program / Traditional Reservist

Sadly the devil is always in the details. I agree it's a shitty military program that doesn't include all of our brave military folks be it active, reserves, or retired. It's a lot like the "First responders" discount. No retirees should apply, so that leaves me out. Thank you for your service...
