I may have missed it while digging through this thread, but is there a source available for the Kia mirrors still? If not, what's the best option left that has auto-dimming and ideally homelink?
Kiacheapparts - I ordered on 22Oct and it was delivered on 27Oct.
Total cost - $27.85

Ebay. About $40 delivered. Be sure it includes the cable.

Got mine installed just now. I'm using the Gentex 1124. Gentex black wire to Maverick dome light black wire, Gentex green wire (Homelink) to Maverick dome light yellow/green wire, and Gentex pink/gray wire (compass/auto dim) to Maverick sunroof purple wire. Homelink works with the ignition off as I wanted, and the compass shuts off before the dome lights do after getting out of the truck and closing the door. I'm happy I went this route instead of using the purple wire on the dome light plug.

Got mine installed. I tapped the yellow constant wire and ground wire. As noted by several above, tapping the purple wire is not a good choice and can cause issues as it is not a 12V constant.

My truck cuts power to the mirror relatively quickly after shut down. I know some were thinking 90 minutes or so, but it’s no where close to that. Maybe 10-15? My only theory on that is that the same way the truck can detect you’ve left a map light on and shut it off, it can also detect the mirror draw and shut it off.

Happy with this mirror. No use for homelink and prefer this cleaner design.

I also have the homelink mirror that is prominently featured in this thread. I won’t be using it if someone would like to buy it.

I've always had a Homelink mirror in other vehicles and it simply makes it so convenient to not have openers hanging on the visor or stored here and there in the vehicle. Installed mine today. After reading this thread I was hesitant to tap into the camera or dome light wires. Questions have arisen regarding camera/sensor issues and reduced voltage etc with dome light power dimming etc. It was very simple to run 3 wires over to the right pillar and down to the fuse panel under the fuse cover by the passenger foot well. There is a dedicated direct 12volt (red wire) and ignition on (green wire) right there with easy access. I know some folks say they have used the connections to the dome/cam without issues and I hope they never do, but seems like a unnecessary risk to your cam/sensors and unreliable power from the dome light area. Especially considering it only takes 5-10 minutes to run the wires to better dedicated connections.

Thanks for posting. I'm sure your post has given others a bit of confidence to go ahead and install the mirror electronics by going down to the fuse panel. I would add if one is going to attempt this to invest in plastic tools to help remove the pillar covering. Available at Harbor Freight.

Eagle, I wired in my Kia mirror with compass yesterday. The 3 homering buttons work, they turn red when I push them although I haven't programmed them yet.

The weird thing is the power button or the compass work. Any idea why? Working issue or defective mirror?

Thanks in advance

Okay, that makes me feel better. My truck was built in September, so hopefully no harness issues on mine since apparently it was remedied on the production line in May.

Do you know for sure it shuts down at 90 minutes?

I should add I specifically chose a Gentex/Kia mirror without homelink. I only wanted autodimming.
Sorry, just now saw your post. I've had no issues with the mirror shutting down.
Did you do the install? How did it go?

There are 2 different power wires that need to be connected. One does the homelink buttons, the other does the compass and dimming. Sounds like you only connected one.

Had 3 wires, one was constant power, 1 switched power, and 1 ground. All properly connected. All connected. I'm wondering if maybe one of the connectors is slightly damaged.

Where did you connect switched power?
