FWIW, I couldn't get a straight answer from Ashlie either on why price protection and 3% couldn't be honored. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. I have been far more impressed with Ed/Philly than I have been with Ashlie/Horsham.

If my Horsham order does not get scheduled (fingers crossed), I may forgo my place in line and move my reservation to Granger instead with my private offer.

So your current deal is still $3,000 below current MSRP. But you're saying you should be paying 3% below the invoice amount of $36,004.80 which would be $34,924.66. It looks like your current deal is a price protected deal and not a 3% under deal.

Price protection: $37,230
3% under CURRENT invoice (per their sheet): $36,921
3% under original DORA: $34,924.66

Problem is, the original DORA states clearly it is "not an invoice".
So it's your opinion, that MSRP ($37230) at time of order is my price protected price and not what I was told the price would be, of $34,925, 3% under invoice at time of order? Of course your statement doesn't take into account Fords $1000 order incentive, at time of order, so 37,230-$1000=$36230 vs the now total, which does take the $1000 rebate (as shown in pic) into account, of $36,921.66? A $692 difference.

I'd be interested in hearing other opinions on the above?

I can see why a local, to the dealer might think that was an ok deal but why would anyone travel several hundred miles for that kind of difference, on a internet deal, over a local deal that would make their local dealer happy, vs pissing the local dealer off, when it comes in for warranty work, which I hear many would be reluctant to do, under the circumstances.

When they put post's, on this and other forums, talking about x% under invoice on ordered cars, I'm thinking they are largely trying to reach out of town customers, which they would otherwise not hear from. Granger is doing 6% under invoice, at time of order and people are going to them from a 1000 miles away. I've heard no one has had any issues with deceptive sales practices or anything else from them.

Primary downside of moving your special offer to another dealer, as far as Tim has mentioned thus far, is that you lose your place in line and get lumped in with the MY23 new orders (although you still get the price protection).

Selfishly, I kinda hope you *do* get scheduled, as yours is just a couple weeks ahead of mine. ;)

I don't see how these two things are related - the price protection and the deal. The price protection is from Ford themselves, the under invoice deal is from Chapman. Those two things should not be mutually exclusive.
Too much confusion in this regard. This is why I can’t wait to get my Maverick built this year. Dropped pretty much all the options so I can get this thing this year instead of prolonging my misery. I think the longer you wait the more shit show you are going to have to deal with both from Ford and the dealer.

Yeah I knew I would lose priority but I will also already have a Maverick as the other is scheduled. There's no reason, as far as I'm concerned, that you can't get price protection and their original offer. And their inability or unwillingness to explain it is not acceptable.

Actually even if my Horsham order is scheduled, this is still a flustercuck. What am I going to pay, exactly? I added a moonroof to the order a few months ago. The DORA when that happened had the increased prices to the packages.. 3% under that invoice would be $31,414. But prices have increased yet again since then.

Oddly I tried to modify this order and drop options, but they said doing that would cause me to lose price protection. Weird since apparently they don't honor it anyway?

Give yourself a range and be prepared to pay up to MSRP. I’m tired of trying to figure out whether I’m gonna get the price I was quoted last year. Ed had hinted that I will pay 3% under invoice of the price increase but wouldn’t clarify if I’m price protected or not. At this point, I‘m expected to pay MSRP so at least I’m trying to convince myself that this is at most I’m going to pay to end my misery.

Yeah my scheduled order is with Ed, but since he had provided a detailed price breakdown I hadn't thought to ask him. I'm not sure why anyone would need to just "hint" when anything at MSRP or under is a deal.

That’s exactly why I wonder he just wouldn’t tell me if I’m going to get the original price ordered. I removed cp 360 and SiBL and he sent back with the moon roof went up to $975 from $600 or whatever it was before. I asked him if they were going to change it to $600 when the truck comes and instead of saying I’m price protected he sent me a screenshot of something about the price increase and the customer is responsible when prices gone up. As much confusing and frustrating it is I decided that I will not burn any more brain cells thinking or arguing about this. Just let it come and pay for whatever MSRP is then move on with my life. This whole buying experience and waiting is fucking ridiculous.

I get the frustration, but the point of me buying from PA instead of GA was due to it being under MSRP. I could have paid MSRP on the street I live on. It was worth flying to Philadelphia and driving it back for what amounted to $2,700 off MSRP.

Makes a difference. I didn't change anything on my Ed order from the day I submitted it. I have a signed price sheet. I will ask him and see what he says about mine.

[/QUOTWith?

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I'm in Florida and was planning on flying up and then taking it back on a train. Was going to cost $1000 but was saving most $3000 so it was worth it. I still have my local order and was going to sell that one and take the Chapman but might keep the local one and see when Chapman comes in what the price is and if not worth it they can keep.it.

Maybe the Horsham whisperer @theway-yay-ting can get us some definitive answer?

I’ve understood it to be a discount off the final invoice price at the time the truck is delivered (not the original DORA quote). Ultimately for me, even if they charged me the higher (post price increase) invoice amount, minus the 3%, it’s still well under MSRP. Additionally, the dealer fee in PA is capped by law and will be under half of the fee charged by dealers here in VA.

I seem to recall there was some fine print mentioned in another thread that had some confusion over whether they were or weren’t honoring price protection after the (Nov?) price increase. I dunno what the final consensus was on that front.

When I picked mine up at the end of May, I had a farm rebate for 2022 and went with the purchase date. When I asked about using the order date they asked if I had a rebate for 2021 and I said no. (it saved me more to use the rebate ($300) than to use the order date price because it only increased by $200.) I was told in an email that I could get price protection but I'd loose the rebate. And it said in my emails too that they were not honoring price protection with 4% off offer I had but I did get 4% off the purchase date invoice.

How to make sure your Dealer honors Price Protection. Start watching at about the 30:30 mark

As I understand Price Protection, My Dealer, Chapman Ford of Horsham, pays Ford, based on the price at the time of my "Retail" order, not at the price at the time of delivery.

If I was to fail to complete my purchase, they would owe Ford based on the new, as delivered to them MSRP. If then they sell to someone at 3% under the new invoice, they would still make the same money.
The Killer "deal" for them and the shove it up your A$$ deal, for me is, the dealer pays Ford, based on the ordered MSRP and they are trying to make me PAY based on the new, as delivered price. Win/Win for them, BIG LOSER for me!!!
