If that's the case and it ends up between choosing the BAP being removed and delayed, versus keeping the BAP and staying on course, I'll have to keep the BAP. I like it except for the black rims and accent bar. If I could order it and keep the rims and accent bar stock carbonized gray, that would have been perfect!

Should be pretty easy to find someone to trade rims with, iirc that style came on the First Edition models and were an option for other Mavs. The accent bar can be changed as well (again iirc). But hopefully they'll find a way to make the changes you wish

Called my dealership today and my salesman didn't know whether or not it's in preview stage. He's going to ask the sales manager for me about that. My sales manager is the one that does the wbdo. I also asked them to see if they can make changes to other Maverick orders in order to tell whether or not it's all orders they're having an issue with or just mine. No answer for any of that yet but as of right now still can't make changes. I'm going to call another dealership to see if they're having the same problem.
Yeah, getting to the person who deals with WBDO is the key!

I spoke directly to the sales manager in person who does the wbdo. He told me straight up he's not able to modify the order. Apparently nobody at my particular dealership has asked for any type of modifications to any Maverick orders for '23. He said I am not in previewing stage and there are 12 '22s ahead of me.

He told me he could add more to the vehicle but he can't take anything away. He claims it's on Ford's end, not the dealership. So after that, I'm left with keep my order as is with bap, or cancel it. Obviously I'm going to keep it even if I sell the truck because it will have instant equity. If you have any other pieces of advice, I'm all ears.

I hear you, and if I am forced to get the bap, I will have to determine whether or not to change the rims. Hard to know for sure until we see these things in person instead of pictures online!

I had the accent bar painted body color on my '22, but it was $300. So that would be on top of the $1650 cost of the package.

Basically, the way I want my maverick, it would cost me about $600 to do aftermarket mods without BAP, or $2k with it.

Hmmm I'm not sure, but it doesn't make sense to me. WBDO can sometimes act funny though. If the orders isn't scheduled, I can't see why changes couldn't be made. (I did have a stock Escape order that couldn't be changed once....it looked like I removed the option I didn't want...but it stayed on....must have just been a glitch in the system. I gave up after 10 failed attempts).

We haven't had anyone ask to change anything on a submitted 23 so I can't say I have tried it.
Sounds like they just don't want to make changes for some reason.

I contacted my salesman and was able to change from my Lariat FX4 to Tremor option and also the color with no problem (as far as I know). Salesman sent revised order sheet with the changes.

The fact that you actually deal with this Hands-On makes me happy to know I've done everything I could. I think you're right...I think they just don't want to lower the price of the vehicle. I don't know why they would do that to me, especially since I bought a Maverick last year from the same guy and even tipped him $100 for a good job. But the sales manager saying today he can 'make it more expensive but the system won't allow him to remove anything', makes things look that way. That's pretty effed up if that's the case. Not much I can do though it seems.

Unfortunately not, unless you can talk to owner or GM? But it may be at the direction of someone higher up that the sales manager is saying that.

The only idea I have for you, is to call Ford customer service and see if you can get them on the line when you talk to the sales manager about it. Getting caught in a lie in a situation like that may prompt them to suddenly discover that making changes is indeed possible.

Didn't think you could change to Tremor at this point. Would confirm with Ford your order is clear?

I stopped by the dealer this morning after having seen the memos from Ford regarding the conversion of 22 orders to 23. The sales manager initially told me that the process was fairly automated as far as he knew. I showed him the memos that I had downloaded and he apparently hadn't seen all of them. After a couple of calls to the regional Ford rep and others, I have now been converted to a 23 order. The" constraint of the day" is "2.5l Hybrid Engine, early balance out". He said that once this is cleared, I should get a new VIN and order number.

He said that he appreciated my checking on all of this and showing him the documentation. He hadn't been shown all of it (particularly the November 9 resolution deadline) and was pissed that he had to find out from a customer. He suggested that I remove a couple of dealer installed options (protective film, wheel locks, etc.) He said that the private offer will be applied at closing.

Call or chat with them, info on their website. They'll ask for your order number and sales code.

I'm glad you're able to get your order updated. The fact that he's letting you modify options on a '22 order may or may apply to my '23 order though.

Honestly Ford chat and Marketing are not that helpful. They only have limited information and can't make any changes or deal with your dealership. They basically just give order 'status'.
