Changes to 2023 orders

Hi all...just joined up. This forum seems to have a lot of good info, or at least good involvement. Hoping to get clarity on order changes if anyone knows...

I ordered the BAP on a '23 EB XLT in Sept '22...but decided after consideration to have the BAP removed yesterday. However, my dealer is telling me that he cannot make ANY changes to my order at this time. He even consulted with the Branch manager, no luck. I do not have a vin or production date, so I'm wondering if Ford changed their policy for making changes on these new orders? From what I understood, as long as you didn't have a vin, you could change most options on your order with the exception of engine and trim. Does anyone know the facts about this? Thanks in advance.

As long as you are unscheduled, I can't see any reason why (minor) changes can't be made. I don't believe for a second that he consulted with a branch manager..... they just don't want to for some reason??

Engine or trim would be a problem, but other than that, other changes should be fine now. (I work @ a dealership and have access to WBDO).

Could be previewing, which would prevent it from being changed. But the dealer should know that.

I was able to change my color and I confirmed that on the phone with Ford.

I dropped the rubber mats from both of my orders no problem.

Not sure what previewing is?.... You mean just about to schedule me?
It means Ford is looking at it for possible scheduling. 50/50 Ford passes it over. Once they put it on their list of trucks to consider, I think it locks it down until they stop considering it.

Ok thanks. I'll be sure to ask them in person tomorrow about that.

I just called to talk to the branch manager and the sales guy I spoke to (not the guy I ordered from) was very short with me. Hopefully I'll get better results in person!

To be fair, you were probably the 38th person to call today to ask about an order of some kind. Probably gets old and Ford doesn't have a good public facing method for retail customers to get their statuses on their own until the truck is on the assembly line.

I hear ya. Auto sales guys used to bombard us customers, now us customers are bombarding them! It's too bad they didn't create an online system to modify our orders on our own. Maybe in the future.

I'm with you, something seems wrong. I tried Ford chat and Ford marketing but they are no help. My plan is to go to the dealership tomorrow but that may not net any better results than calling them yesterday. If you were in my shoes, what would be your next step after that to try and fix this?
Maybe talk to sales manager? Or maybe there is a fleet manager who will talk to you? Find a person who actually submits orders in WBDO.

That's not true. Nothing is locked when it is previewing to schedule. I make changes to previewing stock orders all the time. However, if it were previewing, the dealership might not want to make changes. Making changes could cause a delay in scheduling that vehicle. It could be that that is the dealership's policy.

If that's the case and it ends up between choosing the BAP being removed and delayed, versus keeping the BAP and staying on course, I'll have to keep the BAP. I like it except for the black rims and accent bar. If I could order it and keep the rims and accent bar stock carbonized gray, that would have been perfect!

Called my dealership today and my salesman didn't know whether or not it's in preview stage. He's going to ask the sales manager for me about that. My sales manager is the one that does the wbdo. I also asked them to see if they can make changes to other Maverick orders in order to tell whether or not it's all orders they're having an issue with or just mine. No answer for any of that yet but as of right now still can't make changes. I'm going to call another dealership to see if they're having the same problem.
