Changes to 2023 orders

Unfortunately not, unless you can talk to owner or GM? But it may be at the direction of someone higher up that the sales manager is saying that.

The only idea I have for you, is to call Ford customer service and see if you can get them on the line when you talk to the sales manager about it. Getting caught in a lie in a situation like that may prompt them to suddenly discover that making changes is indeed possible.
In other situations, I think along the same lines as you have. However, knowing that my specific dealership has already canceled some orders (assumingly forced to from Ford higher ups), I don't want to risk losing my order over the BAP. Even if it gets left on and built that way, I would be a fool not to take it. I can't tell if I have a couple weeks or a few months before getting a build date so maybe I'll ask again later see if it was a system issue. I'm going to ride the wave at this point. I don't want them getting pissed off and canceling my order.

That is a good point. If that tactic didn't work, they may just cancel your order or refuse to sell to you.
Hopefully you can change in the future.... or will end up really liking the BAP!

To be fair, you were probably the 38th person to call today to ask about an order of some kind. Probably gets old and Ford doesn't have a good public facing method for retail customers to get their statuses on their own until the truck is on the assembly line.
QFT.

They are all busy. Go in, talk to the sales manager, be patient and polite.

Yeah at this point I have to live with it or maybe they'll be able to remove it later. It isn't the worst thing in the world.

Did that... Results are in previous replies on this thread. What is QFT?
Quoted For Truth. Or quite f***ing true, whichever you prefer.

I think I know the answer to this, but I'm going to ask anyway.

I got my confirmation and VIN today but I REALLY want to add CoPilot 360. Do I dare? Or is it even possible? Build date Dec 5th.

I spoke directly to the sales manager in person who does the wbdo. He told me straight up he's not able to modify the order. Apparently nobody at my particular dealership has asked for any type of modifications to any Maverick orders for '23. He said I am not in previewing stage and there are 12 '22s ahead of me.

He told me he could add more to the vehicle but he can't take anything away. He claims it's on Ford's end, not the dealership. So after that, I'm left with keep my order as is with bap, or cancel it. Obviously I'm going to keep it even if I sell the truck because it will have instant equity. If you have any other pieces of advice, I'm all ears.
One more thought.... If Ford has changed the priority code of your order to 02, then the dealer cannon make any changes (unless they change priority code to 10-19). This could cause delays to your order.
A year ago, I had to change my 22 Mav hybrid order from 02 to 10 to removed the tonneau cover that was holding the order up.

But I don't think that this is what is going on in your case (since they were willing to add options, but not take any away). It may be relevant info for others though!
