Now that I’ve seen a couple Mavericks in the wild, I realize I hate the offset license plate.

Has anyone experimented with moving it back to the center where it belongs? I have (or someday will have) the hitch so I’ll have to work around that I know.

Hitch mount it. When you want to tow something, move it over or up or whatever temporarily. You could even stick the plate in your back window in a ziplock bag while you tow. Check your state regulations, but usually rear plate rules are loose enough to just say something like "your rear plate has to be mounted more than x inches from the ground and no more than x inches off the ground".

I think the rear offset license plate is kind of cool.

If I were to get cranky about license plates it would be the one at the front. Wouldn't ya think there could be a properly designed spot for a plate rather than just having it hang off the bumper like a pimple on your nose?

Why does that bother you so much? You can't even see it when you're driving. I actually like that uniqueness.

No kidding, my dealer couldn't even mount the front plate holder on level.

I like it. Makes them easy to spot if there's no decals in the MAVERICK on the tailgate.

Ha, every time I see a Maverick the offset placement of the plate hits my OCD nerve..maybe add another plate to the other side? :) If I ever receive mine I wont care much, bike rack will cover it lol

"where it belongs" Shouldn't that be: where you think it belongs?
I assume that state or federal law actually says where it belongs, at least in the legal sense. I'm sure Ford knows what the law says or they would not have put it where they did.
