I was able to get a bike into the bed at an angle with tire off, but so much easier with the rack! I put a little padding on the rack so can drop the tailgate some. I have a tonneau cover now. When rack is down, you can drop the tailgate IF you adjust the stop cables of the tailgate.....happy...
Yeah unfortunantly I was getting some clunking from I believe the sway bar, I cleared the fender with a hammer like it suggested but there was plenty of room, need to investigate just ran out of time. I suspect sway bar too. I see other kits dont come with shorter sway links.
Did a little wrenching today, went on fairly easy just a spacer that mounts on top of strut and shorter sway bar links.
Oddly the before/after measurements are wonky. Maybe it needs to settle lol
When I first got my maverick, I didnt adjust the mirror up and it was incredibly annoying but then I moved it as far up as possible and its only a tiny bit annoying. I could move my seat down further but Ive never had any problems in any other vehicle. following to see what comes out of this :)
I believe this is the same one just not Ford branded: https://realtruck.com/p/bakflip-mx4-tonneau-cover/bak-448324/
Is it better that a cheaper one? That depends on what you want it to do and maybe there is a cheaper option, but I am still looking.
For me the big selling points (which I am...
Your post inspired me, great idea!! I had a monetary switch laying around so thought I'd give it a try. The RED button! I may switch it out to one that matches interior eventually 😉
I just ordered the HGR leveling kit(1.5") so we will see how it goes on and then performs! Had both spacer lifts and spring lifts in the past, not a huge difference that I could tell...that was on Jeeps though, they already ride funny LOL
Front wheel drive so won't help in the rear.
You might be able to find an aftermarket option, ask your local auto shop if they sell them, preferably in chrome as they look sweet going down the road ;)
For the first 2000 miles mine was fine and thought I wasn't affected, now I am feeling the grabby brakes when nearly stopped, under 2-6 miles per hour. My passenger thinks I cant drive haha.
Yeah I've been lucky? enough to need the wipers a lot lately lol, and that was also something I wish I had. The auto sensing wipers on my other car were taken for granted lol as was the auto dimming mirror!! The previous car also had a tinted rear window(SUV) so I bet that also helped.
Hey yes I am aware of the tail gate, thanks for the info though! I personally prefer the ease use of hitch rack. It's served me well for about 6 yeas so far! It also covers the backup camera though haha no loss I keep forgetting to use it.
