I heard in one of the reviews (daily motor) that the Maverick has the same hood layout as the Bronco Sport and should accept the Bronco's hood insulation. Has Anyone tried yet? I'm curious if it would make much of a difference (quieter cabin/protect the hood from engine heat/ warms up engine faster etc).

Seems like there would need to be receivers on the hood for the pins to secure the insulation to???

Not sure, it seems like its just held on with clips. Can someone with a maverick confirm if there seem like there are holes that correspond with the plastic insulation clips from this pic? This is a pic of a bronco sport with hood insulation.

Nope - you would have to drill them.

I can confirm the slots for the hood insulator and the plastic retainer clips from a Bronco Sport DO NOT correspond/align with the holes in the hood brace for the Mav. However the size works fine and the profile of the hood insulator works, i.e. for example there is a cut out where the windshield washer hoses go from the cowl to the hood. There are two flaps that apparently tuck into slots on the Bronco Sport. The Mav does not have anywhere to tuck the flaps. The material is easy to cut with a utility knife or even a pair of scissors. I am contemplating using contact cement, two-sided tape or Velcro to fasten the hood insulator on. The consideration is heat will degrade the adhesive. I just don't want it sagging or coming loose and tangling in a belt. Or, carefully drilling holes and using round plastic pushpin style clips to hold it on. I am reluctant to drill holes due to the liklihood of rust forming on the metal. plus denting the hood because in most places you can't slide anything between the hood X brace and hood to stop the drill bit. Thoughts or suggestions?
