Got to see both XLT and the XL models today.

They are larger than I expected. Nicer too.

However, something puzzles me. Is it just me or is the interior of the XL FAR nicer than the interior of the XLT. The XLT literally looks like it has a Formica counter top for a dash. The black looks SO much more appealing. This makes no sense to me.

I will tell you that if Ford offered cruise control on the XL, I would literally just get the XL and add leather seats. However, the no cruise control is a a deal breaker for me.

The color schemes for the XLT and Lariat are indeed odd. I am surprised that blue is the primary color on all 3 trims, and that Ford didn't just do a black interior to save money.

There is no blue in the XL. It is black. Looks SOOOO much better.

Several of us here on the forum have said we like the XL interior better. And cruise control can be added aftermarket.

I had read that it was a complete pain to add, and cannot be integrated properly. Is that true?

I just changed my order from XL to XLT. XL interior on my order said ebony. On the XLT order it says blue. I like both interiors. I might just change out the orange rubber pieces. The good thing is with Oxford white any interior will go nicely.

Personally I don't like an all dark/black interior and a gray headliner. I thought the XLT's interior with the light parts of the seats were the better match. The Lariat is OK as well, though I still think the XLT interior should have been the flagship.

The photos on Ford's website clearly show a blue/black combo interior for the XL. The seats are all black, but much of the interior trim is blue, same as the XLT and Lariat. Am I blind?

Some of the photos on the Ford build site are labeled as pre-production.

See the blue on the XL hybrid as built for sale being taken on the road here, for example:

The first time I hear the Horn on a Maverick and it sound pretty good & loud.

Anyone wanting to add aftermarket electronics should insure that all the necessary elements are included in the package. I had an audio dealer install a head unit in my Transit Connect early this year. I have been waiting for the steering wheel control module to come for 7 months now.
