Can Remote Start be added later?

I ordered a 2023 Mavrerick Lariat hybrid with luxury package and, co pilot 360 w/assist. For some reason my dealer didn't understand that remote start is no longer included in the luxury package, so it's not on my order. Can I add the key fob remote start now that order banks are closed? What about after the order is delivered? Is it something that can be added easily?

What did your dealer say when you asked? They should still be able to change options (e.g. add/remove remote start) but cannot change between Hybrid and EcoBoost, or downgrade from Lariat to XL or XLT. Best to get it added now as doing it after delivery will be a whole other fob, instead of just a button on your key fobs.

I believe that you are allowed to make changes to some options for a period of time afterwards so check with your dealer. You may not be able to change trim or powertrain but most other things is ok.

He was literally clueless. I told him twice that remote start can be added and is not included, so he went to check with someone else and came back and said, no it's included. I didn't want to argue with him though because I knew it was a constraint anyways. Is it just the key fob? If so, I'm wondering if the dealer could order one even after the truck is built

You can add it. Show them the PDF guides shared last week which detail the changes in option packages for 2023. Remote start keyfob is not included in any package for 2023.

You could also order the Perimeter Security System to be installed after it's built which can be configured for key fob remote start.

I'm not entirely sure that you would have the app option still. It is listed as "remote start system" I just wasn't will to chance it, so I added it.

Yea its been doable for years for a lot of ford models. You can usually buy the kit with OEM Fobs/Keys and the antenna. I paid like 150 for the kit and ACE cut them for free. Then i had ford turn it on when getting a oil change for like an extra 20$. you could also do it your self with forscan.
