We need a probably need the brighter/flashing 3rd brake light....
Ford Maverick (2022+) Morimoto LED Third Brake Light Upgrade

Also, design wise, maybe amber turn signals to have a red & amber section of the tail lights to focus the eyes on the braking section of our trucks would help?
If they can't see the truck, I doubt the color of the taillights would make a difference.

I got slammed a few weeks ago by a kid in a Tesla. Impact at my drivers rear wheel. Busted every component of the suspension. Not the Mav. 2015 Outback. Major impact to concrete center barrier. Back across 4 lanes and both shoulders. Into the metal gaur rail. Back into traffic. Other than 3 wheels surprisingly little visible damage. All 4 door and the lift gate open and closed without and issue. Car was totaled. Kid says "I was changing lane and never saw you". If people are not looking out the windshield while driving, these things happen.

I'm sure it was a typo
it surprisingly isn't, but I'm not sure who his insurance company is or exactly how they arrived at that.

there's pics showing very minor dimpling on the boron steel frame rails. considering how we've seen that completely crushed on other vehicles, I would say the insurance screwed that one up, but once they have, you probably don't get a chance to undo it.

I'm still thinking 4300, I doubt the truck even cost 43 thousand when brand new.

That dimpling minor as it is, indicates that there has been some stress and like you said it is boron steel.
As such it cannot be repaired. It has to be replaced.
Below is a picture of the replacement part.
Everything attached to that part has to be disassembled and reassembled $43,000 in time and labor plus parts fully understandable that's why it was totaled.
Add to that if Ford Motor Credit Finance the vehicle Ford will not authorize any repair of their boron steel frame it has to be replaced.

right, when the repair estimate is significantly more than new cost, it's certainly totaled.

Yup,I doubt the estimate to repair would be 43 thousand when the truck prolly cost 36 thousand when new. That makes no sense at all.

Sure it does when the shop has to replace the frame in the picture post #20

Yup, I doubt you have a firm grip on estimates to repair a vehicle. It makes every bit of sense.

That is why the vehicle was totaled.

I did not click on the link lol. So the repair estimate is 43 thousand dollars for a vehicle that cost 36 thousand when brand new? That makes no sense.unless it was over inflated to total the vehicle.

Same reason to replace 1 LED headlight costs significantly more than its percentage of the cost of the vehicle new.

People have provided links, photos, and attempted to explain it to you but you don’t want to hear it.

So keep on keeping on, I guess.

I have been rear-ended twice in Albuquerque, NM, In six months. Both times by inattentive drivers in larger pickups. I was stopped or had to stop. No I didn't have to slam on the brakes. And, no, they were not on their phones. Neither I or the car was damaged. But without the hitch receiver there is a good chance the Maverick would have needed minor repairs. The lesson is. GET THE HITCH RECEIVER.
And leave your hitch and ball on at all times.

Repair includes labor costs. If it takes many hours to make the repair, the price goes way up. This is the exact reason insurance companies total vehicles--the vehicle can be replaced for less money than it would take to repair it.
