OK spare me some grief to an old man. I took my very limited computer ability and poke around on the forums AND the owner's manual, but to no avail. The button on the far left with the hand. What exactly is it stopping.
Well all the SA's can go ahead and give me some of your best funny stuff for it's purpose. It seems to always entertain some and aggravate others. But what would the forum be without old farts to entertain you young whippersnappers

That's the Howdy button!

Nah, it's for Auto Hold. If you turn it on, you don't have to keep your foot on the brake when you're stopped with the vehicle in Drive. It will hold the brakes until you nudge the accelerator.

This button is for the auto brake meaning once you hit that button that you are able to take off your foot from the brake. For example at a long stop light. All you have to do is to accelerate once the light turns green again. There should then also be an indicator on your dash to remind you that the function is turned on.

It's the button your significant other pushes to slap your face for being a smart*ss. At least that seems to happen in my truck, not sure if the button was pushed or not

Beware using this at a slow drive through. My 2025 has a ti.e limit on it and will release the brake with no warning! I almost ran into the car in front of me! The second time it released I almost rolled past the pickup window! The third time, well there wasn't a third time, because I don't use it anymore. My RAV at least gives me a warning, but not the Mav!

😲🤔
I have a 2023 and have never experienced an unintended disengagement of the auto brake hold feature.
Two scenarios
1. Your Maverick is malfunctioning and needs to be taken to the dealership to be repaired.
2. You are unknowingly accidentally touching the gas pedal.

Thats 100 percent not true, you need to go to the dealer. It should never release unless you hit the gas.

I've noticed the opposite at times: Sometimes -even on a level grade- when I don't have auto hold on, it seems to be engaged as 'stuck' when I take my foot off the brake, and only idles forward after a touch of gas. Anyone else notice this?
