As someone who has used 1 pedal drive, it's nowhere near as aggressive. In the hybrid it's not coasting but it's also not really braking. I use it for a general slow down

No! DO NOT drive in L position all the time. I'm sorry but that guy is not well educated.

Reserve L for going down steep grades.

It does not help you going up hills.
It does help slow you going down hills.

It does NOT help boost MPG.

It does put you, your truck, and your family in danger needlessly.
It slows you as good as brake pads but DOES NOT TURN ON THE BRAKE LAMPS.

Driving in L all the time is akin to driving without brake lamps, technically, a moving violation.
I disagree with your other point that it doesn't help boost MPG, because it does help boost MPG by keeping your battery topped up.

With that being said, your last sentence is absolutely true and the most important reason I didn't even bother trying L mode after learning of it. Already so many crazy drivers out there, without brake lights you're asking to be rear ended.

I used L one time trying to go down a mountain. I turned it off after about 1/4 of a mile because it is too aggressive. I could see how it might be helpful for some really steep grades, but I haven't otherwise found it to be useful at all.

It really doesn't.
Maybe you got that impression via your particular driving.

I can get 57 MPG any day, any road, as long as you let me stay 45 mph or under.

I keep my battery as LOW charge as practical. Usually 30-40%.

Carrying around a full battery is carrying around POTENTIAL energy. Maybe you'll use it, maybe you won't.

In my case, I've realized / utilized that energy.

Also, batteries accept charge (regen or other wise) more efficiently the lower the charge.

Like SPAM, "try it before you knock it".
😎

Honestly though, driving technique plays more of a role than mode.

Coasting, neither regenerating nor burning gas or electrons trumps all.

Photo from Today. I have 100 similar photos from 100 other days. Always slippery. Always gentle regen. Battery always low as practical.

Fuel Calculation set to -5%.
950/1000. Very close to actual at the pump. Not exaggerated. Level roads. Flow of traffic. Speed limits 35 & 45.

Doesn't really sound any different than when I had my GT Mustang. I'd let off the gas without pushing in the clutch to slow down.

You should drive around in L full time and find out.

Seems to work for other Hybrid users here...

I find it hard to comprehend some of the dumb questions on this forum, such as this one. Haven't you ever driven a vehicle before? L has been a selection for automatic transmission usage forever.

Wait! Isn’t L the same as putting the transmission in ‘low’ as in the last 70 years of transmissions? Use it to move out of slippery situations?

Ah yes, very good point, my driving is a lot different.
I am stuck in stop/go a lot and regularly run into situation where the battery is low and it has to turn on the ICE even while stopped.

Apparently you haven't even read the owner's manual or searched this forum. Or you're trolling.
This needs to become an auto post right after every thread starts. The pinned threads have more information than all the others combined. The truck is about to start it's third year of production so the a new thread on a previously undisclosed topic gets my attention far quicker than a weekly wash, rinse and repeat subject.
