I have it on this truck, carried over from my last truck. License plate is covered more that the weathertech item, but it's not really 'covered' since you can see it at different angles.

Cops must have nothing to do in your area. I don't even use a front plate anymore. I will have the 24" bump step on mine.
After reading all the horror stories about Mavs being rear ended and totaled for what looks like minor damage. I ordered a weather tech bump step. I am having second thoughts now. Mostly because it looks like it will block the view of the licence pate. Really don't like being pulled over by the cops.
I ordered the WeatherTech bump step as well but I felt the 12 inch would work just as well as the longer ones since they all attach via the tow receiver that size will not matter anyway

I have some wicked LED's that flash 3 times then light steady. I'll have to see if I can make some work in the 3rd brakelight.
@LSchicago I found these on another thread somewhere on the forum: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SGB672J

Ordered and installed them a couple days ago. With this kit, you'll get two white LEDs to replace the cargo lights, and two strobing red LEDs to replace the single 3rd brake light (you'll have an extra).

They may help a little in a very slow speed impact, but you need to ask yourself whether you want to take all that energy from a higher impact that the Mavericks rear end is designed to absorb and mitigate and then concentrate it into a smaller area rather than allow the rear end to do what’s its engineered to do (and spread to load to best absorb it safely).

Good luck
.

Is there any aftermarket bumper or modification where I can have steps on the back corners of the bumpers like bigger trucks?

Why?
Are you extremely short or something?

The big trucks use those because the average person can’t reach over the very high sheet metal and reach the bottom of the bed.

Its likely not a problem with the Maverick unless you‘re 5’ or less.

Yes totally understand the thought. The hitch anyway is very exposed. My thoughts are it would probably take that impact anyway. Short thoughts low impact parking lot issues will most likely work. Higher impact may be better may be worse. I did put it on today and like seeing it on the back up cam. So you know how close you can ger.

Thanks, but I own an LED lighting store. I'd rather use what I have. These would be a good option if they strobe 3 times, then light steady. Continuous strobing red 3rd brake light is illegal.

RE- posting since the original pics were not edited correctly... I hope these help. The license plate is not 'covered' . It's viewable from almost every angle .

My dealer had this as a mandatory add on which I refused. But was intrigued by the idea. Esp at a 400 buck cost.

A new nickname for your truck..."Hammerhead". ;) Reminds me of a Hammerhead shark. 😁

that's what they do, strobe 3 times, then light steady

Edit: that's what the red LEDs do, strobe 3 times, then light steady

Thanks for the pictures and detailed measurements! Will definitely consider this option if/when I get my truck.
