After a couple of years waiting, and getting our Escape paid-off, we finally picked-up our Maverick Tremor on October 2nd
It's named "Poundcake" because "I just love my Baby's Poundcake"--one of my all-time favorite Hagar-era Van Halen songs
It's a Lariat with the Tremor Package, Power Moon Roof, Factory Tri-Fold Hard Tonneau Cover, and Factory Molded Splash Guards. I would have probably gone with a color other than Oxford White, but it's the Wife's car, and it's what she chose out of the 6 or 7 colors that the dealer had on the lot. We purchased this from Oliver Ford in Bennington, VT; they were knocking $2400 off of the price of several of the Mavericks that they had in stock.
I've been part of the Maverick Truck Club for a couple of years now, and the members here are equally as passionate as the folks over on FocusST.org, where I've been a member for the past 11 years. My Focus ST is pretty much as far as I'm going to go with it, and the aftermarket support for the Maverick is pretty solid, so I'll have plenty of projects and updates along the way. No worries, the Atomic Punk is not going anywhere; I'll probably never let that go.
I've had a stack of parts waiting to go on, including a few that I won at the MTC Roundup at Carlisle the past two years.
Here are some pics that I took right after we got it home and the parts started going on.
The first thing to go on was a hydraulic tailgate assist.
Next up was an AVS BugFlector II hood shield. I've used these on several vehicles over the years, and I prefer the overall coverage and the fact that I can clean behind them easily and also easily remove them if needed. Fitment was perfect. I do like the low profile ones, but not the fact that they tape directly to the hood.
Next was a set of Redline Tuning QuickLift hood struts. I've been using these for years, and they are simply the best. Fitment is top notch, and install time was less than 15 minutes. I even have a set on my Winter Beater 2009 Subaru Outback.
A few pieces for the interior: Mabett door pocket inserts, a ProClip phone mount, and Maxzina 2-piece console organizer. Also, a set of Tufskinz Tremor logo door sill protectors.
