Bolt-on Hood/Bug Deflector

I have an AVS Bugflector II on my Maverick. It uses screws to attach it to the hood, no tape.

I looked for that product on Amazon and could not find it. Do you have a link to your vendor?

I put an EGR Matte Black deflector on which screws to friction fit brackets that are pressed on the leading edge of the hood. I think it looks way better than the stick on Ford one that came on my factory order 24 Lariat Tremor that I peeled off because there were signs of crap collecting under it. I like how there's enough room between the deflector and hood to clean between.

I'm not a big fan of the tape installation due to the possibility of discoloring the hood after a few years if you need to replace the shield. Looks like there are several other options out there. Thank you for the replies and links. Very helpful

The Deflector kit supplies include heavy duty clear film stickers that are stuck over the hood edge to protect the paint when the mounting clips are pressed on. I hope these pics help.

Very helpful. I see how these clips allow the shield to hover over the hood rather than on top of it. Would you say the shield is more of a bug protector or hood protector . .. or maybe a bit of both?

Hopefully you replaced the fasters with ones that attach to the under hood gasket. My AVS one left the gasket flopping around, so I have to be careful closing the hood.

I'd say probably both, I can't say I've seen many Bug butts on the windshield... lol and no damage to hood, other than it really needs a good wash in these pics but of coarse summertime water restrictions
