I didn't notice a drop in my mileage. I don't cruise the highway, so that may slightly affect?

I looked for that product on Amazon and could not find it. Do you have a link to your vendor?I have an AVS Bugflector II on my Maverick. It uses screws to attach it to the hood, no tape.
Thank you! Can you post a photo of those "friction fit brackets" you referred to? By the way, I see you did a review on there website, as well.I put an EGR Matte Black deflector on which screws to friction fit brackets that are pressed on the leading edge of the hood. I think it looks way better than the stick on Ford one that came on my factory order 24 Lariat Tremor that I peeled off because there were signs of crap collecting under it. I like how there's enough room between the deflector and hood to clean between.

The Deflector kit supplies include heavy duty clear film stickers that are stuck over the hood edge to protect the paint when the mounting clips are pressed on. I hope these pics help.Thank you!
