I moderate to warm weather (no heat or cooling running) you will easily get over 600 miles per tank with conservative drivingWow! Over 500 miles per tank! Can't wait!
My Maverick has been built and shipped. Haven't got it yet, though.

What's not realistic? It's as real as my truck. Not realistic!
I was using slippery, but now Eco. My driving is predominantly in town. I was 44 mpg in the warm months and now 39.4. I only reset mileage every couple of months. I do live in SC where winters are cold, but not like north of usThanks so much … I’m wondering if switching to eco or slippery mode might help… didn’t try that? …been seeing some folks referring to that … not critical but just curious if I can boost my mpg ..
Same here. I am getting an average of 44 mpg for 13,000 miles I've owned the truck. My highway miles are 55 mph 2 lane country at about 75% and town driving for about 25%. I have noticed that the mileage is influenced by the temp.I’m avg about 44 MPG. I use mines about 90% of time for commute to work. I drive 40 miles a round trip anday and it’s about 20 HW and 20 city. 3300 miles driven in total since I got it. Best MPG vehicle I’ve ever owned.
Maverick XL Hybrid (Ford Maverick) | FuellyI may be wrong, but I don’t think that you can rely on what your dummy instrument panel shows you. I would love to hear from folks who actually did the math. I want to see those spreadsheets.
if you claim fuel economy from your dashboard idiot lights, you probably aren’t getting what it says. Kind of like assuming your lights work when Ford did a recall for that.
I’ve wonder about temp effect on the MPG. I’m in MD and I got my truck in Dec. So all my mileage has been in cold weather but I’m still average 44. It will be interesting to see how much better it gets once the weather heats up in the spring.Same here. I am getting an average of 44 mpg for 13,000 miles I've owned the truck. But, your “44 MPG” is based on the math where you calculate how much gas you put in, and how many miles you drove, and repeated that calculation over time. Correct?I’ve wonder about temp effect on the MPG. I’m in MD and I got my truck in Dec. So all my mileage has been in cold weather but I’m still average 44. First 1250 miles on 24 hybrid Lariat. 47.7 MPG via hand calcs. Included 270 mile round trip To Heber/Overgaard (max elev 7600). Very little a/c or heater. Also use 91 Octane gas.In my new maverick lariat hybrid at the 1000 mile mark with a mixture of city and highway driving I’m getting about 35mpg. I’ve had some folks report on YouTube and chat rooms crazy numbers like 45mpg etc. am I missing something? Does my driving generally suck or are there better ways to improve fuel economy?![]()
My mileage seems to go down a little in the 30° and below range and goes up in the 60s to 70s. It starts dropping again in the 90s and 100s.I’ve wonder about temp effect on the MPG. And I bet your "ultra slow" speed in traffic was the same average as other cars. They were just stopping and going and you found the average speed. So ive been looking at all the replies and i think the best solution is to run the truck for over 2-3k miles over a variety of conditions and then hand calculate the total mpg. I’ would also proactively set my trip A to be the overall measurement for 2-3k and trip B to be my smaller trip measurements. I think this is the best way. Also some have been talking about eco mode and running the truck a little softer which probably is best practice… look at some of the previous comments
I know it’s possible to “game the system “ .. today was in traffic for about 12 miles and I totally gamed the calculation by driving ultra slow and on battery and achieved a 110mpg rating for all of 3 minutes which we all know is ludicrously untrue .
So measuring over short distances is probably not the right way to measure this .
I’m hoping to find out my true mpg in the next 2-3k miles . But thanks to all the folks here who have had some great suggestions
It’s definitely being cognizant of the way you drive. I watched the EV coach function to get the mileage shown on a short trip.In my new maverick lariat hybrid at the 1000 mile mark with a mixture of city and highway driving I’m getting about 35mpg.
