I have a 2024 Lariat no problems until this week and I started noticing the lights not coming on inside. It is 22 months old and I’m wondering if it would just be better to go buy a good battery instead of screw with the dealership

Nothing with the 3/36 warranty to use to get a free one, and upgrade at that?
You'll get an AGM.

But you'll have to wait - lights just starting to get whimpy - too early, won't be bad enough for warranty replacement.

Get a jump pack for that day it's finally done, which frankly is useful anyway - you really don't want to cable jump someone anyway.

Do you use Ford App?
I'm guessing not.

That will also give alerts for being in battery save mode.
Or the next worse step - Remote Services have been disabled. Aka Deep Sleep Mode.
Both those steps are to conserve the battery to make it last longer.
And they'll work.
Your truck will likely keep starting for many months.

But at this point no lights on entry and immediate on exit - that's closer to bad enough for warranty.
Unless you just missed the whole process of them being on less and less as it got worse and worse.

I appreciate your reply, but my question was would’ve just be easier to go get a new battery then deal with the dealer for a period of time

Depends - do you still have warranty left?
Yes - it matters to my answer.

Yes - worth dealing with dealer, when that time comes your current battery will rate as bad enough.
You'll go in once, and get a new upgraded battery for free, except for your time.

Now - if you feel the need to go in every week complaining and asking them to test it instead of just waiting - then you are wasting your own time, in which case No, put your own in and be done with it.

So it really does depend on what you will be likely to do, and warranty.
Because you don't have to deal with the dealer for a period of time.
You can deal with them once.

Buy one of these for $15, and plug it in every month or two overnight.

Foval 12V smart battery charger with 4-step charging program for car, motorcycle, and other vehicle batteries. Check it out now! https://a.co/d/07nVjlWO

You'll be buying a new battery every 11-22 months trying to stay out of deep sleep unfortunately.

Ford can't figure out how to get the system to properly charge the 12v battery.

I have a 25 Ecoboost & my interior lights don’t come on if my doors are not opened for 96hrs (4days). It isn’t uncommon since I’m retired & my Lobo is a “weekend car”:)

It isn’t my brand new battery but the programming of the battery saver. It is a feature that I believe we all have in our trucks. Not sure if this is what you’re experiencing though…

I have a 24 Lariat Hybrid. At about 18 month For replaced my battery with the AGM under warranty no argument as air questions. It’s with the trip to the dealer for a battery check.

With our first Mav, a 2022, the dealership changed the battery four times before I got a Diehard on my own and said the heck with it. Lasted longer but still eventually had the same problem. With our 2025 we haven't had a problem yet since the batteries are better and I would think after three years that Ford would get some things right with the charging system. And if you don't have one definitely get a jump pack and keep it charged periodically for the inevitable time it will be needed.

I would suggest getting the dealer to replace the battery and get them to put on the service record that you complained of it going into deep sleep. This way when Ford is potentially required to recall all models that experienced deep sleep to make the actual fixes needed to the vehicle to prevent the deep sleep problem you'll have proof of an affected vehicle.

That seems to have started in 25MY, when some 24MY posters never saw the same thing happen to them in that other thread.

If you have the dealership replace the battery under the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty then they are putting in an AGM battery instead of the original EFL one. You need to have less than 40% available capacity to qualift for a warranty replacement. An AGM battery is a bit more resistant to undercharging sulfation damage, so it will last longer, maybe until Ford releases a fix. An AGM battery is more expensive - $380 plus installation out of pocket should you decide not to have the dealership do it.

I have a 24 Lariat with 22,000 miles and have recently started with Deep Sleep (twice). Like Gullzway, I put a battery charger on it when I the notice or about once a month. I have never had a problem starting the truck. I also keep a NOCO jump pack in the truck. I will wait till it gets much worse before replacing the battery whether it's my dime or Ford's.
Good Luck.

Personally, I would try to get a new one from Ford on warranty, then if that failed I'd spend the $150 - $200ish for a new AGM battery. I buy new cars because I want reliable vehicles and it sound like yours is living on borrowed time with that obviously failing battery.
