I have a 2025 hybrid that has the AGM battery. A typical AGM h4 battery costs around $150. You might be able to get the dealer to replace it but not sure how much of a hassle that might.

I appreciate your reply, but my question was would’ve just be easier to go get a new battery then deal with the dealer for a period of time
On my 2014 Fusion Hybrid Ford installed a new battery in Naples, Fl and then a year and a half later refused to replace the dead battery at a Ford dealer in Elizabethtown, KY. They stated that they had no record of the battery having been replaced. Date code was stamped right on the 3/36 Motorcraft battery. I replaced it with a better quality NAPA battery.

Fast forward to 2026 and my '25 Maverick hybrid has bricked twice and battery saver mode with no lights twice. I drive plenty of miles each day. I had the battery tested at two Ford dealerships and O'Reilly Auto Parts. Good each time. It appears the charging software of the truck is defective with no solution from Ford. I carry a NOCO jump box. I'm thinking of installing two 900amp deep cycle batteries, lol. Or perhaps a lithium battery with its own BCM? IDK. I'm getting frustrated with Ford. 😠

The Ford tech on this forum thinks that the issue is a battery drain. Others on this forum would agree with you...the issue is the BMS software.

I'm in the same Boat (truck). I'm going to buy a new battery. It worth the $190 from Walmart to stop the aggravation.

If you have the dealership replace the battery under the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty then they are putting in an AGM battery instead of the original EFL one. You need to have less than 40% available capacity to qualift for a warranty replacement. An AGM battery is a bit more resistant to undercharging sulfation damage, so it will last longer, maybe until Ford releases a fix. An AGM battery is more expensive - $380 plus installation out of pocket should you decide not to have the dealership do it.
Yep. I had two different dealers test my battery and tell me it was fine. When I asked them why it kept going into deep sleep every other day they didn't have an answer and told me I could bring it in and leave it for further testing.

I bought a duralast gold myself, and it lasted 11 months before it started going into deep sleep.

I'm wondering whether others were like me - unaware that the Hybrid's 12V battery isn't used to start the vehicle, and for that matter the Hybrid doesn't even have a traditional starter.

My '23 XLT Hydrid suffered from the deep sleep/battery saving mode issue for a long time before I finally replaced the 12V OEM flooded cell battery with a 12V AGM. Laughably the dealer's response had been that I "just needed to drive it more".

I was considering one of the off-brand AGMs from Amazon, but came across an ONLINE-ONLY AGM replacement from Walmart that struck me as perhaps being an unbeatable deal for only $94.92. Everstart Premium Platinum AGM, (huge) FOUR-YEAR free replacement warranty, free shipping, etc.

The Walmart online listing states free installation, so that's probably available for any who need it.

If installing yourself, be sure to perform the easy Battery Monitoring System (BMS) reset procedure after installing. If not done, I believe the Maverick will be "unaware" there's a new battery and you'll continue to have the deep sleep/battery saving mode problem.

This new AGM has worked flawlessly since I installed it myself in November. Again, the 12V battery is not used for starting the motor, but my Maverick started and performed perfectly this morning when the outdoor temperature was 6 degrees.

For some reason there is no photo on Walmart's online listing, so here are photos of exactly what I received.

There were some minor typos/discrepancies in Walmart's online listing, so I wasn't 100% sure it would be exactly as hoped, but happily it was. As I encountered elsewhere, online INCORRECTLY indicates that this battery will not fit my '23 XLT Hybrid. I've run into this issue elsewhere and my guess is that there are sites that fail to accurately differentiate between Maverick Hybrid vs non-Hybrid. This AGM in fact turned out to be a perfect fit for my Hybrid.

Concerning this AGM's 535 Cold Cranking Amps rating, that's considerably more than the OEM flooded cell battery. I did see that some other AGMs (like the off-brands on Amazon) claim more than 535CCAs, but I wonder how accurate these "as much as" CCA ratings are and considering the battery isn't used for starting the Hybrid I'm totally satisfied with the 535CCA rating and didn't fixate on that difference.

More importantly, I saw perhaps no others with the 4-year Free Replacement warranty, and if there is a problem, I viewed the ease of potentially dealing with my local Walmart to be a huge plus.

If interested, search for this current Walmart online listing and see my photos (again, disregard the "Looks like this item won't fit your vehicle" shown in this Walmart image and any of the other typos/discrepancies I noticed in the listing).

Free Shipping! EverStart Premium AGM Lead Acid Automotive Battery Group H4, 535 Cold Cranking Amps, 80 Minutes Reserve Capacity - Walmart.com

I view it as a real bargain.

I have a 24 Lariat Hybrid with almost 19,000 miles and a stock non-AGM battery.
Try this - Charge your battery overnight, then do a BMS reset. This solved my deep sleep and no lights inside problems. It's been very cold here and I've had no problems for the last few weeks after doing this.

My 2023 Maverick Hybrid was going into Battery Saver Mode with minutes after getting out of the vehicle. I was coming up on the end of the 3 yr warranty and took it to the dealer. They checked it and replaced the battery with no hassle. They also did a multi-point inspection for no charge.

There are a couple of forscan changes you can make that will help prevent the battery issues. May not solve all issues but I think they are things to try. You can change the battery target state of charge. The default is 80% and the forscan spreadsheet recommends going 95%. The other item to look at is the 12v outlets shutoff time. The default is 4500s (75mins). That’s a long time if you have stuff left plugged in. I changed mine to 2mins.

It's interesting if you read the followups of those that made that change to 95% - what they actually see for SOC% values.

95% doesn't work.

Besides - the default system keeps charging above Ford's special SOC 80% - at float charge, abouts 0.5 amps.

That's not a target value, it's when it goes to float charge.
