Battery insurance? Ok stay with me on this one. This will not only be my first truck but my first hybrid
A friend of mine recently purchased a new corolla hybrid and he purchased battery insurance
I think he was a bit pressured into buying it. I am a long term owner of a vehicle (average 10 years) so my question is should I purchase this 'battery insurance'?

I drive a 2009 Ford escape hybrid, never had a battery problem and I think offering that insurance is a scam.

The salesman at the dealer I bought from said the battery life is pro-rated, but then it was a salesman so who knows.

They are talking about the 12 v battery.

For x dollars you get "lifetime"'replacements of the 12v battery. This is offered for any car. It is not a hybrid battery.

The Hybrid battery life is sort of prorated. If it needs to replaced under warranty Ford only guarantees replacement with a battery of commensurate wear, not necessarily brand spanking new.

You're wasting your money if you purchase any type of warranty. Selling warranties is a huge profit maker for dealers! The finance officer gets a commission on any warranty he sells. I never buy them!
