Ok, thanks for your reply, but I don't have access to parking in a garage, so then I would have to use outdoor rated extension cord to plug " tender" into? And then have to unplug device every time I use vehicle? Seems cumbersome to have to do for a $30K new vehicle~~~~ wouldn't a new battery solve the problem?

I’m in the same situation. No garage. And I have the same question.

Can't plug the Battery Tender Jr in when you're not home. BUT . . . . I have a scooter, my Slingshot and the Mav plugged in when they are in my garage. RAV4 is plugged in sitting in my driveway. Yes, the agony of plugging them in and unplugging them every time is almost unbearable. BUT . . . they always start. The batteries outlast batteries that are not plugged in. OR, instead of the agony of the plug, you can always find a way to unlock the truck when it's battery goes down, open the hood, get your jump box, hook it up and then start the truck. Maybe.
I prefer the 10 seconds that it takes to plug in or unplug a Battery Tender.
Your truck, your life, your choice.

The cigarette lighter connection turns off after a few minutes. You can find an OBD2 plug on Amazon that will allow you to connect to the solar panel and charge your battery.

There's only one OBD2 connector on the truck and that is under the driver's side dash.

The OBD2 port is on the driver's side, under the dash, very close to both the side panel and the bottom edge of the dash.

If you can't find it, ask a mechanic or someone at an auto parts store like O'Reilly's.
