My Ford Pass app has not been able to connect with my Maverick which was always in shut down battery saving mode.
Took it to the dealer, they tested the battery and ultimately replaced it free of charge. The app works now but apparently the full fix is still not ready from Ford so they gave me this note with my receipt.

Everyone keeps saying the dealership replaced the battery. What people aren't saying is if it they replaced the battery with an AGM battery or the same flooded battery they had before. This makes a BIG difference on whether the dealerships are aware of how an AGM battery will last longer with the BMS charging system or not.

Pointless since they are working on a fix. No one will throw a more expensive AGM until clear instructions come out.

My bet is that whatever fix they come out will solve battery issues for 97% of people.

I took my Maverick back in for the deep sleep mode issue again for the 3rd time and they replaced the battery. I do have a dash cam and the last time they blamed it on the dash cam. This time they didn't. So far battery is holding up and I will take it back if I have the deep sleep issue again.

May be pointless, but those of us who have AGM batteries haven't suffered a dead battery. Also, the Maverick Hybrid in forscan is formulated for an AGM battery. All I am trying to see is if the dealership service departments are at least in the know about this. That's all. Putting in a flooded battery is a temporary fix. Most of us (including me) have installed our own AGM batteries and have not had a "dead" battery.

I still get the occasional "sleep" message, but its been since May of 2024 that I put in my AGM battery and it removes the "sleep" issue just driving 3 miles. And, after a sleep message and driving only 3 or 5 miles, it's weeks before I see another one. My original flooded battery gave me a sleep message within 4 weeks after I got the truck new and died the next morning. I got a flooded battery installed and it died within 8 weeks.

My AGM battery is still going strong since May 2024.

How do you know whether the battery is AGM?

If it is being replaced under warranty, the dealer will not switch to an AGM battery. Ford won't pay for a battery other than the one called for in the parts catalogue.

The battery the dealer installed was an AGM
The dealer may have paid for it themselves.... or put in a different battery than they claimed to Ford.
Or a Ford Field Service Engineer may have given permission for a different battery?? That might be a possibility? They will at times overrule normal warranty policy.

Ford is very picky about battery warranty claims. Every single one of them is manually reviewed. I can't see how Ford would pay for any battery other than BXT-99RT4-A in a hybrid Maverick unless special permission was received.

So the BXT-99RT4-A battery isn't AGM because the dealer told me it was?

I have a 2023 Hybrid and am on my second replacement battery. Previous 2 lasted about 6 months each before they started going into saver mode. With the second battery replacement that I just received the dealership also replaced some part that is supposed to monitor the battery. I’ll see if that helps. They would not install an AGM battery on my request because they told me it would not be covered under the warranty.
